Most of them have water in them year 'round (especially the playas that are located in parks).

I took this a couple of years ago during contsruction of the new English and Philosophy Complex. I took this photo from the 11th floor of the architecture building. I'll have post a photo of how it looks now that the centre has a lovely fountain and a garden area in all that brown area in the photo.

Also, the North Overton is gone. It is the site of the largest privately financed civic improvement programme in the nation. I'll have to include pics of what is happening there...

AAC, if you have a Tech ping list I would love to be included. I grew up in Lubbock and Tech is my alma mater. Thanks!

Our good hostess hispanarepublicana is the head honcha on the TTU ping list; give her a buzz.

Where in Lubbock did you live?

Just west of Slide Road on 15th Street. When I left Lubbock in '79 I lived off Quaker on 80th. Thanks, I'll give her a ping.

That's practically Central Lubbock now.

On a different note, you had wanted to see some pics from my Vietnam trip. This one is a photo of Saigon at night as seen from the bar and restaurant atop the Caravelle Hotel.

It is one of the "hot" places to live. Now I have an excuse to go there with my camera! I will have to take some snaps for all the Alumni who haven't seen Lubbock in many moons.
