Good luck with that. But they've seen you coming. The trick with gun-ownership, or any other fundamental right, is to split the opposition block by eating at the edges in a limited way. A confused enemy is an in-active enemy. They aim to promote confusion, indecisiveness, and thus inaction.

The Vietnamese Communists when they took-over told those they wanted to imprison in the South that "they would need clothing for the thirty days they would be in the re-education camp". Guess what ...

The campaign will pick-off a fraction of the cold-dead-handers at one go, probably starting with registration of one class of firearm. This will mean the waverers will turn and say "Come on, guys, lets just give in this time, it's only (insert class of firearm)." That way, the cold-dead-handers never get the signal, because their never sure if this IS the signal. This way you end up gradually squeezing them out. It's not like one morning every Cop in the country would be dispatched to confiscate every firearm - then the cold-dead-handers can have their day.

Indecisiveness is as big a killer as shell-fragments. The best-armed, best-trained 300lbs wrestler of a Marine is just another sheep if he is presented with something which makes him indecisive and thus inactive. Now he's just a target.
