Free Republic Military?
5/16/05 | Guard Dog

I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

I was pinged to your delightful post. We already are the Special Ops people of the media world. That will have to suffice, but it looks like that will be enough.

I still say that there is no problem that cannot be solved by a 155 mm howitzer shell.

In fact, I believe in this so heartily that I custom-made a pin:

Served in USMC 1994-1998. Saw no action, but survived 4 years with President Clinton as CIC. Ohh rah!

I came into the AF under Carter (77) and left after Clinton got re-elected (97). I miss military life and would probably still be in if Clinton had been removed/not been re-elected.

Of course if I WAS still in, I would probably be on the fat-boy program...LOL

The best years of my life were under Reagan and Bush 1.

Eagles up, Marine!

We had a crowd of folks in the Lincolnton/Washington, GA who joined a Reserve Transportation unit to avoid the draft. They went around openly bragging about what they had done to stay out of Vietnam. About two months later, guess which unit got activated and went to Vietnam?
