I FEAR FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN

And the other is a new age nut. And Barbara Boxer was ranting and raving about this? Come on, Frist! Do your job!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05147/511359.stm - Dems procedurally blocking an up or down vote on Bolton over secret docs the Bush administration won't release.

I fear for this country mainly because there are RINOS don't have the courage to admit that there's nothing left to talk about with most Democrats.

Voinovich is in the middle of an emotional meltdown, but you'll never read about in the press. Just like you didn't hear about Jim Jeffords suffering from Alzheimer's and repeatedly wandering the halls of the House of Reps looking for his Senate hearing room.

I've also come to the conclusion that he is being blackmailed in some way. This is way over the top behavior.

Think how much easier it would have been for him to have just kept his mouth shut, and voted for Bolton. I can't see that he would have suffered any consequences whatsoever from Ohio voters.

Voinovich is a CROOK.

Voinovich approved a $60,000 illegal payment from his 1994 gubernatorial campaign fund to the V Group, an architectural and construction company headed by his brother, Paul Voinovich.

In a sworn deposition, Vincent Panichi, the governor's 1994 campaign treasurer, told investigators that he was present at a meeting when the governor authorized an allegedly illegal reimbursement to his brother's company and former Columbus lobbyist Anthony Fabiano for Waste Technologies Industries (WTI) for hiring labor leader Ray Gallagher, a Voinovich partisan. Allegedly, the money was to be laundered through a third party, the political firm of Mamais & Associates.

On May 7, 1997, FBI and IRS agents raided Fabiano's Columbus office and seized his files and financial records as part of a secret grand jury investigation in Hamilton County.

I like the essay, but if you're going to send it out to more people, use a spellchecker on it first. I spotted at least fifteen typos in it. People take letters and essays less seriously when they're riddled with misspellings.

Thanks for the information.
This begins to explain Voinovich, I think.

I just wonder WHO is behind Voinovich's bizarre, "sore thumb Republican" act in opposition to Bolton? As always, I suspect the answer is at the end of the money trail - - in this case, the oil-for-food money trail. Billions and billions of dollars buys a lot of "influence".

I'm unwilling to "risk" it too, that's why we should just pull out of this communist NGO and quit funding it. Then they can just change the name to the Third World Dicators Blood and Fun Club.

I agree whole heartidly. Later in my article...which I had to excerpt here...I say the following.
The UN is corrupt. From the leadership down to many, if not most, of its organizaions and agencies. We need someone to make clear, in unmistakable terms, that the United States of America is done coddling the UN, done paying for the UN's corruption and abjectly anti-American stance on so many issues, done standing by while nations who are unabashadly totalitarian and violating the civil rights of their own people and others are named to committees that supposedly watch over the civil rights of other member states. The inconsistancies and out and out hypocracy would be laughable if they weren't such serous issues...if American taxpayers were not only being fleeced to support such activities, if American soverignty were not being threatened by them.

It is time that we told and outlined a direct plan for the UN to either shape up, or for us to end the relationship and invite them to leave our shores...permanently.

I FEAR FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRANCHILDREN

But, a grandfather fearing for his children and grandchildren is not something to take lightly or cavalierly dismiss. As the father of five children, and the grandfather of three grandchildren with a fourth on the way, I know this to be true. So, I wanted, grandfather to grandfather...father to father...to respond to Senator Voinovitch.

I understand his feelings. I too fear for my children and grandchildren.

But I do not fear having a man such as John Bolton as our Ambassador...I fear NOT having a man such as Mr. Bolton as our Ambassador to the UN.

The inconsistancies and out and out hypocracy would be laughable if they weren't such serous issues...if American taxpayers were not only being fleeced to support such activities, but American soverignty were not being threatened by them.

It is time that we told and outlined a direct plan for the UN toi either shape up, or for us to end the relationship and invite them to leave our shores...permanently.

Despite whatever shortcomings this nation has or may have had, it remains the beacon for individual liberty and soveriegn constituional republicanism. Our shores are the place where the poor and down trodden still yearn to set foot on...to kiss the very earth. It has remained that way precisely because, when America needed them, there were men of unwaivering and unequivocable judgement and principle who were willing to look all of those in the eye who would steal, harm, corrupt or otherwise injure America and her soveriegnty and freedom and tell them to back down or face the dire consequences.

We desparately need such men and women today, who stand on American principle, which has created a society which is the envy of the world, and not equivocate.

Some may say this is not diplomatic. I say...too bad!

When it comes to principle, when it comes to the survival of the foundaltional values and way of life that made this nation great...there is no room for diplomacy. There is need for steel, for forthright statements of fact and stance. I have faith enough in our system of government (in so far as it is constitutionally adhered to) that I do not fear the adverse reaction or hurt feelings of nations who would like nothing more than see that very manner of government, to see our very liberty corrupted and destroyed.

No, Mr. Voinovitch, I fear MUCH more the lack of such a man at the UN than the fear of what other nations may think because of those unequivocable stances. I was taught by my own father and have learned through the school of life that principle cannot be equivocated or diplomatically negotiated away so "everybody is happy". Particularly amongst individuals, organizations, or nations who would like nothing more than to see you equivocate so that another notch, andother chunck of the concrete and steel that make up the fabric of our constitutional republic can be whittled and chipped away.

A Mr. Chamberlain of England one time made impassioned statements similar to yours Mr. Voinovich. History teaches us where that path leads

I only wish to God that we had 61 Senators in the US Senate who thought and acted with this manner of directness and uncompromising principle. Who would not equivocate, who would stand firm for our constitutional republic and the foundational moral values upon which it rests. Perhaps then we would see more Judges who do the same...and with those two parts of our governance secure, perhaps we would be well on the way to restoring our constitutional republic to the strength and greatness it not only deserves, but MUST represent.

With him and so many others like him...and even worse. Samual Adams said it best...and sadly, it is something that large portions of our society have forgotten...or never learned.
"[N]either the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend of the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen onto any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man." She is laying low, letting others carry the dirty laundry water while she continues the deception that she is somehow becoming more conservative and "all American". IMHO it is clearly all political and geared towards her burning lust for power and the Presidency and nothing more.

IMHO, if she is ever placed in such a position, she will wield that power to accomplish her true marxist agenda and probably cause a civil war in this nation.

He has either deluded himself into believing those things he said...or, more likely, he's made a back room deal for Demo help on some of his legislation in exchange for opposing Bolton, or they have some dirt on him.

In any case, whatever the motivation, we need to stand up oursleves and oppose it and let him and other Senators know.

He was mildly against the bombing of innocent civilians when war criminal Clinton decided to bomb innocent Serbians during the Easter holidays. Bolton condemned that.

What makes Voinovich do these bizarre things?

I am afraid, very afraid for my grandchildren today in our school systems. One, age 9 is in private Christian school in Raleigh, North Carolina, the other is 3 1/2 years and in montessouri daycare, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Two great-grands are the children of one of my two grown grandchildren, both of whom live in Houston. Two great-grand children 11 and 13, that are in public school in Houston; and their dad is a computer tech (self employed).

The other grown grandchild is a teacher of kindergarden, and has the children/students of NASA parents: Married to a professor at Alvin Community College. No children yet.

Nearly 'all issues' today are a threat to everything that made America 'great'. All of which are impacting the young of our nation daily. Living in west Texas means not having the opportunity to be involved with their daily lives. This world is a dangerous place and our very way of life is in peril. Already changed in so many areas.

The judges, the senators, etc., have become enemies of the many and advocates for the small minority. Tyranny. Power is ugly in the leaders from the liberal side of the aisle. Lieing, cheating, stealing, blackmailing, falsely representing, ... power ... power ... power... and getting away with it. God help us.

God help us.

I am convinced that He shall...but also convinced that there will be a very tough row to hoe in the mean time. As you say, the culture built up by the liberal/marxists and abetted by the big government, "more compassionate" RINOs is an enemy to what our founders fought, bled and died to create, and to what millions of oithers have fought to preserve.

Practices like abortion, so called rights for the perverted to raise children and have their unholy unions called good, the government school system and the abominiations it "teaches" our children (like teaching Jr. High and younger children about all manner of perverted sex and how to prtect themselves when conducting it), the ability for doctors and government social workers to counsel and direct minor children toawards hideous life choices without the knowledge or consent of their parents, the welfare state where hard earned salaries are pilfered at the point of a gun for those unwilling to work in many cases, the abject infringement on 2nd amendmentrights to bear arms, and the list goes on and on...tear at the very fabric and foundation of what this nation was founded upon.

After reading dozens of books, histories, compilations, and documents about those men, I am convinced that if the caliber of men who founded this nation were alive today, they would fight these practices tooth and nail...they would not have tolerated them amongst themselves (no amount of compromise, no amount of diplomacy, no amount of diverse thinking would have been brooked on such issues)...they would either have already put down this sort of evil nonsense, or those men would already be dead.

The War on Terror is not the only war we are involved in. The other, even more serious war, is being waged right here at home and it is over nothing less than the very fabric and foundation of our Republic and everything it was founded upon. We have insidious enemies who have infiltrated not only the perimeter, but the very command structure and they are busily, with a will, tearing it to shreds before our eyes.

We must stand resolutely and fight this war here, while our brave soldiers fight the external enemy elsewhere.

Where have the good men gone? Certainly not to Congress? There are a few exceptions. Zell Miller comes to mind. None are the caliber of our forefathers. Mores the pity.

Our hopes have been up a few times in the last 5 years; yet it is like there is a hole in the bucket we carry them in; and we fail to change buckets or to weld and repair it.

With over 50% either on welfare or working for the government, the time is short to have any effect on the direction we are swiftly moving.
