Hmm interesting considering that Cheney while he was still with Halliburton signed a contract in 2000 that "spawned" the detention centers at Gitmo so I guess he'd know ?

I am so sick of this media/dnc fantasy generated crap that has been pushed out of the clear blue sky. Execute every prisoner and save tax payers money.

Sick of it.

Please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong in this, but, I don't seem to remember any big delegation of people, namely Dims, going over to the Middle East to make sure that our POWs were being treated humanely. I also don't remember anyone going over there and asking the captors to abide by the Geneva Convention.

"They're living in the tropics. They're well fed. They've got everything they could possibly want.

Hmm. Has Cheney been listening to Rush's Club Gitmo advertisement? LOL

What's going on at Gitmo? (Inmates playing soccer, volleyball, reading Agatha Cristie in Arabic)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1416660/posts

U.S. has used its naval base in Cuba as its main holding area for suspected members of al-Qaeda and the Taliban...

At least 12 of those set free are believed to have resumed terrorist activities, according to the Defense Department.

The best-behaved detainees are held in Camp 4, a medium-security, communal-living environment with as many as 10 beds in a room; prisoners can play soccer or volleyball outside up to nine hours a day, eat meals together and read Agatha Christie mysteries in Arabic.

...some inmates continue to provide valuable information, ranging from how al-Qaeda raises funds and recruits members to how it plans attacks and builds explosives.

...a few detainees helped uncover a previously unknown al-Qaeda cell in another country.

I saw the pictures of this new facility, some of the rooms are bugger that the BEQ room I had at Fort Bliss, Texas in 83. They are living better than some of our troops in Iraq on any given day and no one is firing rockets or mortars at them.

the "tropics."

Why is the word tropics in quotes? If Gitmo isn't in the tropics, nothing is. By definition the tropics are those latitudes between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer. All or virtually all of Cuba is south of the Tropic of Cancer. Havana, pretty much as far north as anywhere in Cuba, is at 23° 08'N latitude. Gitmo is on the southeast portion of the Island at latitude 20° 05’ N. while the Tropics like between 23.5 degrees South and 23.5 degrees north

Of course the reason it's in quotes is to imply that Cheney was lying and Gitmo isn't really in the tropics, which folks associate with a pretty moderate climate, especially when the place in question is also near the ocean, which since it's a Navy Base, Gitmo is. D@** MSM, especially the French media.
