"My name is Zbignew Brezinksi, I was the National Security Advisor under President Carter..."
Oh, my head...I'd leave that off the resume Mr. Brezinski.
I saw a show on TV that showed the majority of anti-abortionists as wack-job border-nazis. What experience does the majority of young iranians have with America? Next to zero. The bottom line is they threw out the shah (not Khomeini, not Carter, the people who took to the streets even in the face of Reza's trigger happy SAVAT) They love American style freedom so much let them make a move. Bush publicly challenged them to do so twice this year. I hope they do but the constant Iran Revolts threads here are never accurate and amount to nothing but ex-pats crying wolf from safe havens in an effort to paint a picture that the realities belie.
My only problem, other than hay fever, is the use of this thread by ex-pat iranians in an effort to dupe freepers into sharing their fantasies about what iran is and wants.
There were no elections in Iran you seem to forget Iran is a dictatorship.
All opinion polls have shown Iranians across the board to be pro-American and most want a secular democracy.
I'm not sure where you're getting your facts - probably personal opinion which is fine but they don't add up with the evidence.
I'm willing to be proven wrong, but the media has been telling us that the Iranian regime was about to collapse since before Bush became President, and it hasn't happened. Not even close.
Thanks to EU-China-Russian support and a strong police state Mullahs own, the regime has survived hard times
