Thanks, theFIRMbss,
I am surprise how many conservatives are unaware of this important issue.
It's understandable why Scientologists would want to keep potential suckers away from any mental health professionals.
I did see post # 12. The only thing there are a couple of links that may be hosts to worms and viruses. Try to explain in your own terms, please.
A curse on both their houses.
I didn't bring enough tinfoil for all those people. There might not BE enough tinfoil for all those people.
No need to...the following very succinctly summarizes the danger that is the goverment sanctioned "mental health" field:
...shine the light of truth on criminal acts legitimized by stipulating that "mental health professionals" in conjuntion with government evaluate and judge a broad range of human thought and behavior. German physicians of the Nazi era, Cuban physicians, and Soviet physicians have successfully used this ploy on behalf of the State which, by means of licensing, confers and legitimizes power to them. Today it is being used in China.
Which criminal acts? Define them.
==A curse on both their houses.
A voice of reason enters the thread...thanks.
Darlin',
If MI is a myth,
then my whole life is vapor and everyone around me is too.
I would only add that psychiatry has done far more harm.
---
Don't know much about scientology and the harm it may have done, but psychiatry does wonders for many people. I have ADD and my life did a 180 when i started taking Adderal. Obviously alternative methods to drugs are desirable and there are a number of ways to lower doses, meditation, neurofeedback etc.. but to keep one stable for the moment, or, in some cases, all your life, psychiatry can be literally a lifesaver. Obviosuly there are examples of abuses etc... but don't generalize these things.
Did you mean to say that psychiatry has done far more harm
a) than good
b) than Scientology
c) all of the above?
Good post,
My life did a 180 also (as well as many I love).
All around me I see far more benefit than harm.
Najida, I recommend you not take any advice on mental health from someone who posts every comment in the form of disjointed haiku-like paragraphs.
In this page you'll find links to articles and critical documents on biological-psychiatry. Biological-psychiatry's official theory describes psychological or personal problems as having a biological origin caused by genetic or chemical 'imbalances' to be corrected by drugs and other interventions like Electro-Convulsive Therapy [ECT] or insulin shock. These widely used but controversial methods in official medicine have been for many years amply invalidated, showing clearly that they are absolutely unscientific, that they tend to alienate patient's rights, are unable to solve the problems presented, are dangerous for one's health, and are submissive to pharmaceutical companies. The need for a drastic reduction in the power of the medical-chemical-industrial lobby is an important task to ensure that all people have the right to positive mental health, and to re-direct science's energies towards therapeutic practices which are focused upon the social and familial systems which are generating the personal suffering, instead of upon erroneous and misguided efforts to eliminate symptoms of social distress generated in individuals.
