Wooten said the M-60 assault rifle would be very dangerous if it gets into the wrong hands.

Oh for cryin' out loud. How flipping retarded can a person be?

The M-60 is a belt-fed machine gun. It is not an "assault rifle".

"You don't even need to point; just hold it in their general direction and pull the trigger," Wooten said.

Because the enemy always conveniently attacks en-masse in platoon-sized formations.

When stolen from a Joplin-area gun show on Sunday, June 21, the gun was broken

Yep, that's a REALLY dangerous machinegun laying around.

"It's a weapon which is specifically designed for combat," Wooten said.

Well. . . duh!

"It does have the capacity for full automatic with a cyclical fire rate of 800 to 1,200 rounds per minute."

What's with this guy? Has he seen Saving Private Ryan once too often? He's talking about the rate of fire for an MG-42.

How many people have been inspired by the title with M-60 "Patton tank" instead. Ok, that was off topic. Sorry :)

Run away! Run away! There is a gun unaccounted for somewhere in the USA! Quick, everybody hide under a bed.

It's also a Main Battle Tank, which is what I thought the article referred to at first. My first thought was, "How does a TANK turn up missing?!"

My first reaction. I have no idea what the definition of "assault rifle" is, apparently any weapon that looks scary to the panty waists over at the Boston Globe, but is it elastic enough to include a "crew serviced weapon."?

But at least it doesn't have a "high capacity clip!"

This guy is like the typical city police force official, a real ass kisser and not very bright, always sure to make the politically correct pronouncement so as not to offend the sensibilities of the poor panty waists that make up the bulk of the populace in an area like where I live (Los Angeles)! My son is an LA County Sheriff’s Deputy and he is a shooter and very firearms savvy. He often times shakes his head when he talks about some of the firearms illiterate deputies he has to work with. He says that you just have to hope you don’t get stopped by one of those morons or you will be getting very aquatinted with the criminal justice system (or lack there of!) in the county!
