"Did he or did he not kill a woman at Chappaquiddic" Ann Coulter

On Hannity and Colmes, While discussing the requirements of a Supreme Court nominee, Ann just sarcastically noted that it was ok to kill a girl at Chappiquiddic. Colmes said that was a low blow and that comment was below her.

WHY??? WHAT is so darned SACRED about mentioning the truth???

Ann said, "Why..."

Colmes didn't answer, and the set was quiet.

Hannity and Reagan (another guest) should have spoken up.

This is another example of "The Emperor is NAKED!"

"I saved my nephew from drowning..... course I wasn't drunk at the time and more to the point I wasn't ted kennedy."

I've seen drunks turn suddenly sober from the adrenalin rush and aid someone who needed it. Most people don't lose certain key characteristics of their personality even if they are drunk. If it happens, it's vanishingly rare. Teddy didn't lose any of the key components of his personality. If he were caring and compassionate, he'd have tried to help even though drunk. Instead he was ruthlessly calculating and showed no regard for human suffering or the sanctity of life. Just like he does on the Senate floor today.

Show me ONE THING "intellectually dishonest" in my posts.

I'm not the first to point out your intellectual dishonesty.

You are being dishonest when you call his deliberately running away, and scheming to cover-up an accident.

It was an ACCIDENT.

It was a CRIME. IIRC, Kennedy even lost his license for a year.

He certainly cared about this person

All I can say is that if I knew that someone -- even someone I didn't particulary like -- was trapped underwater in a car, I'd call for a rescue squad.

In two other ones I risked my life and saved drowning people, and in another I saved the life of someone burning to death.

If they were burning to death how could you save them? Sorry to pick nits.

BTW, the fact that people here call a spade a spade and point out that Kennedy was a coward does not make anyone here look bad. What Kennedy did, or rather what he did not do is open for commentary. It's absurd to say that any comments about Kennedy make anyone here look mean or nasty. Let's ask Mary Jo's corpse what it thinks......

(crickets chirping)

As best I can tell Mary Jo agrees with those of us that look at Kennedy and want to puke becuase he's been given a pass because his brothers both got shot to death while in public office. I mean really, that's the deal, because Ted is a Kennedy and his bothers got dead the media have given the fat pig a pass. And they let him do or say whatever he pleases. Well, that goes both ways and people here have the same right to say Kennedy is the coward he is and always has been.

My other point: Why separate Teddy's politcs from his past sins? Why argue these points? We can all agree that the guy is evil. You are splitting hairs here. Perhaps trying to stir up trouble?

But if you are criticizing FReepers by saying we concentrate too much on Chappaquiddick, then you have obviously lost any vestige of an ability to argue your point.

What are you talking about?

I'm the one who said that attacking Kennedy over an accident that happened years ago proves people have no ability to mount an attack on his politics.

I can't believe you made such a weak attempt to repeat my own argument against me. It makes no sense in this context.

My spiritual side will allow him to find his way and not judge. My Human nature and reason will not accept his story or his conduct as a Senator.

Well since he's a US Senator I can't speak specifically about him. But such behavior would make me want to turn the spiritual side into vapor and the physical side into mush.

In my post earlier the author asked how did he manage to get out of the car and she didn't? He is over 6' tall and she is 5'2!

But I still think it is hateful and small-minded for people to keep dredging up Chappaquiddic.

Under most circumstances I would agree with you, but he occupies a very high position with very much power. He has lied and slandered many people over the years. Spiritually though you are correct, but reason and politics say he needs to be put in his place and taken out of the game. I don't know if it ultimately justifies criticism of this nature but that is the game they play.

'Show me ONE THING "intellectually dishonest" in my posts.'

How about you admitting you are not bothering to read the posts to you, because you 'know' all about it?

To repeatedly attack and accuse him years on end over a tragic accident is cheap and low IMHO.

An unfortunate accident can happen to anyone, but how many of us would run away to fine a lawyer before we would help our passenger or call for medical help? The man ran. And left his hapless date to die.

Please answer this:

If you drove your car into the water and one of your passengers did not surface would you:

a) Try to save them

b) Call the police

c) Find the nearest person to help save her

d) Go have some beer and pizza and call the police the next day.

You are either nit-picking, or trying to stir up trouble.

Tell me this- are you sincerely criticizing FReepers for taking Teddy K to task for MURDERING a human being?

Did you simply want us to overlook this "minor" aspect of his life, and perhaps focus more on his Senate voting record?

You're demented.
