'I don’t know what the milk will be like after this,' drug agency officer says

Updated: 5:03 a.m. ET Aug. 16, 2005 MOSCOW - Russia’s long winter will just fly by for a herd of Russian cows which, a newspaper reported on Tuesday, will be fed confiscated marijuana over the cold months.

Drug workers said they adopted the unusual form of animal husbandry after they were forced to destroy the sunflowers and maize crops that the 40 ton of marijuana had been planted among, Novye Izvestia daily reported.

“There is simply no other way out. You see, the fields are planted with feed crops and if we remove it all the cows will have nothing to eat,” a Federal Drugs Control Service spokeswoman for the Urals region of Sverdlovsk told the paper. “I don’t know what the milk will be like after this.”

I think so. I understand that horses love it.

STOP THE PRESSES!

It was common practice to feed The Weed to cows and birds until the Gov mucked it up. Birds sang better and cows gave better, happier milk.

As a kid in dairy country in the '50s, I witnessed for myself, Feds were still burning fields of Pot on local dairy farms.

The Russkie official is an idiot, one among billions.

If you have ever tasted the milk of a cow that has been eating alfalfa, you know that a lot of stuff goes straight into the milk. I wonder if the active ingredients in marijuana will do so?

My mom said the same thing. Not about the farmers, but a guy who lived up the street was "always smoking a pipe on his front porch" and she "just knew" it was weeds from the farm. LOL! I always wondered how she "just knew."

The street value of milk in Russia just tripled over night.

Do the active ingredients need to be ignited to release them? I would think so or else you could just go around chewing pot.

It still was and may still be. For a while it was still packaged in mixed birdfood until civvies found out and began planting the seeds. Afterward, manufacturers sterilized the seeds so they wouldn't grow (sterilized is what they said). I guess it worked, but I'm not sure if it is still packaged for the birds these days; I haven't checked.

If you could look back as far as I can, you would know one thing for certain . . . people were a helluva lot easier to get along with back then.

Nope. You can eat it raw, if that's your thing, and still get the high.
