There's a particular security hole that the worm is exploiting that only appears on unpatched Windows 2000 systems. Microsoft has had a fix available for it for the past couple of weeks, but not everyone's gotten around to installing it.

CNN scrambling to air Lou Dobbs at 6 because all NYC bureau PCs are down. Ha ha!
WABC is down.
Some places having problems since 1:30 pm EDT.

Just another reason to avoid msn.com. Perhaps that site is infected with a very nasty worm. I avoid going back to log onto Microsoft whenever they capture my web browser. Sure way to cause a system crash.
