Thanks for this thread Dolly. Have had the news on all morning & the situation gets more and more dire as time goes by. Prayers for all involved.

I went to the Salvation Army's site at http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ to see about giving a cash donation. I'm pleased to see that Wal-Mart has given them a gift of 1 million dollars toward Katrina Disaster Relief. The Salvation Army always comes through in times like this.

I know right now we're all concerned with helping the human victims of this disaster but if anyone has a few extra dollars I know there must be hundreds of animals that need our help too. I'm a big animal lover and it breaks my heart to think about what they are going thru too. The Humane Society sends rescue groups into areas like this to find abandoned pets and animals.
