My son lives in the Keys and says that gas is always much higher there. Also when my cousins have visited the Keyes, they have always remarked about the cost of gas and other items being higher the further away from the mainland that they went.

Since my son just called and told me that the gas prices are going up and that state officials have already talked to them about rationing fuel at the Marina and for autos, I'm inclined to believe him. The cost of gas has been, I believe he said $3.49 for the last two weeks and they are getting ready to up the price today.

Although one pipe line has been reopened in Pasgagoula or Biloxie that isn't enough to help. The off shore driling rigs took severe hits. The refineries are in LA and they have no electricity. You can't use raw crude in your car and without the refineries up and running...

You have to remember that LA isn't just New Orleans but a great deal more.

Calm down, take a deep breathe and THINK people. Everyone including station owners are getting their panties in a wad just because the MEDIA says that we won't have fuel.

I was sitting in line at the gas station here in Greenville, SC and the gas went up from 2.40 to 2.88 by the time I got to the pump. 48 cents in a matter of minutes.
