and that you did! and, I agree. Biloxi took a devastating hit as well, but yet, we see no criminal element taking advantage of the situation. Could it be, there are no criminals in Biloxi?

criminals=democRats

No, my FRiend. It's George Bush's fault. I read it on Democratic Underground. They're much wiser than we are. I believe them.

There's a Democrat Mayor, a Democrat City Council, a Democrat Chief of Police, a Democrat Attorney General, a Democrat Governor, a Democrat Lt. Governor, 24 of 39 Louisiana State Senators are Democrat, 67 of 105 Louisiana State House Representatives are Democrat, there's a Democrat Representative in the House from New Orleans, and one of two Senators in the Senate is a Democrat. Yet, somehow it's all Bush's fault.

I wanted to say that but...... by the way who are the Senators from Louisiana? Have they been anywhere, on TV, radio, etc, or M.I.A.?

If you go to the City of New Orleans website, you will find the good "Mayor's" announcement. As I read it, Mr.Mayor did not seem to believe that the hurricane would be this disastrous.

As far as the gangs of New Orleans, this is nothing new. New Orleans has been known as the City of Murderers since the early 1990's.

Of course, this is going to be Bush's fault. I guess you don't blame the political hacks in Louisiana that you voted into office.

My prayers are with our fellow Americans. This is a natural disaster and we all need to help out.

By the way, MSM, quit calling these victims of Hurricane Katrina "refugees". They are United States Citizens!

I will say it does seem strange to blame a president when the Democrat mayor and the Democrat governor had all the authority necessary to take action prior to the hurricane's landfall. The mayor waited until Sunday noon to call for evacuation, when all the forecasts going back to Thursday said New Orleans would be hit. Why not start the evac on Thur/Fri. Why not get the National Guard prepared to build a tent city a day after. These things were in the power of the mayor/governor but now they want to blame the Federal Govt and the Pres. How convenient.

This is not Monday morning quarterbacking. There have been many reports and studies going back years which said what we see now is exactly what would happen if a cat 4/5 hit NO. The mayor and governor knew this. So, get the people out early ... use the Greyhound buses for all the poor people who didn't have cars. Better to evac when it turns out not to be necessary than to do what we see now.

What did they do? One - ordered an evac 18 hours before landfall. Prior to that, and after that, nothing! It is their job to protect their citizenry and they had the power. Instead they sat on their hands!

I think if Bush stood on a corner outside the Superdome and passed out $100 bills to everyone who asked, the left would still claim he was "stingy" and "didn't care" and was to blame for every whim the left wants given to them.

They're going to blame Bush for everything, including where hurricanes land. It is as predictable as the sun rising.

There was a caller on one show that started blaming Bush for "not leading" and "not doing enough" but couldn't stick to the script long enough before he was claiming Bush stole elections and melted the ice caps, etc. etc. and said the whole thing was the fault of greedy Republicans. The hosts just laughed him off the show.

Democrats "project" onto Republicans that which they themselves are GUILTY of! They make me sick! Where is the GOVERNOR of Louisiana? This is what she was elected to do! Where is the Mayor?? Oh right, he went to Baton ROuge.

The lack of basic personal survival skills is a sorry state of affairs in this country and a shameful indicator of the results of 40 plus years of Nanny statism and the quiet racism of condescending liberals. For 3 days everyone was told to get of New Orleans. Those that ignored the advise to leave are now screaming to be told what to do. And there are those "refugees" claiming lack of transportation ("I couldn't afford to fix the car") or resources ("Can't afford no tank of gas") while standing on rooftops and balconies waving at rescue copters, smoking $5/pk cigarettes and leaning on TV satellite dishes. Many if not most of the vigorous flag waving seems to be coming from very able-bodied and fit "victims". Laughable if not so tragic.

So all the millions spent by JFK, LBJ, Carter and Clinton and 40 years of democrat congress did exactly what? Your an idiot. Throwing money in the N.O. toilet has done nothing but get flushed for 40 years.

We all know where the buck stops.
Presidents, all Presidents get the credit when things go well and the blame when things go badly. That reality goes with the job. Thus far New Orleans is going badly.
The Fox News poll has Bush's job approval rating falling to 45 percent positive and 50% negative as of today.
And the President trots out Bill Clinton and his father to head private sector fund raising.

Why also is it that such horrible reports of mayhem and anarchy are not flowing from Biloxi, the site of far worse devastation than New Orleans? Could it be because Biloxi, which lies in Harrison county, Mississippi, voted 62% for President Bush, and is a Republican county? Could the traditional values practiced by Republicans have prevented them from turning into animals?

On 9/11, NYC had Guliani in charge of everything(R). Thank God!

The levee issue give ant-Bushies a chance to bash the Army Corps of Engineers who are responsible for mansgement of the entire Achafalayafa Basin including the City of NO levee system. To skim the articles, I am hard-pressed to find any thing close to culture carping of the citizens of NO.

Sen. Landrieu was on TV tonight. She's in LA, and said she's staying there. She asked the Senate to do the right thing by LA. She tried to give some perspective about the enormity of the total situation, but finally gave in to the prodding of the newsbabe, and agreed it's Bush's fault.

Why should the feds be responsible for a local problem? The people of NO choose to live below sea level. Why should the feds have to pay for that choice.

Maybe the feds should come out to CA and pour super glue into the faults.
