Incredibly sad photos on this thread when you think about the numbers of folks that could have been evacuated. Nagin's comments about the lack of bathrooms doesn't jeehaw with the 100 mile gas tank capacity. Sounds like they could have stopped for bathroom breaks every two hours.
I work next door to our city school bus yard and would guess we have about 200 buses parked in that lot. It is the only bus barn we have, and that number of buses serves the needs for children of a population of 50,000. It's feasible that NO has 10 of these bus barns.
