Boy, for a minute I thought Clinton would be able to avoid politicizing this. What could I have been thinking?

What in the world???

The woman screaming about the levee being broken on purpose? They ignored her.

Just went over to the NRO corner and Rich Lowry is quoting Mary Landrieu about how out of it FEMA director was.

Nothing about her irresponsible behavior or the dereliction of duty by the local authorities.

This from the conservatives.

I wasn't going to watch, deliberately. Clinton is such a POS that I just start getting angry all over again at what he did to this country.

Clinton trying to exempt himself by saying he tried to fix the levy system. He is, however, smarter than all his little friends. He's slapping them down for their timing of politization.

41 was amazing! Advised the critics to repeat it to Barbara's face. LOL Also stated in response to the critisism of G.W., that he could handle it. HUGE laughter cause we all know G.W.B. isn't going to bust a blood vessel like a certain other ex if critisized.

One of the reporters shouted out something about is it govt's fault?

41 said, "The President can take it."

Then he said, if anybody wants to take it up with Barbara, you better put on a flak jacket.

Drew a big laugh from the reporters.

Wow, ten pages in Word. Thank you for that roundup of salient and pertinent facts. This has definitely enhanced my reserve of ammunition for the coming "water cooler moments" at work.

"What do you say to the people who say the levee broke on purpose"

LOL! An SUV probably rammed it until it broke...

Those people are sick, sick, sick. I could not BELIEVE that question. Just stunned.

I heard someone else groan after she shouted the question.

But you know the libs fawn all over everything he says. That's why it was important to hear his self-congratulatory babble.

Excellent. Have you considered posting this as a vanity? I know there are lots of people who can use this information, summarized as you have done it.

Very well written...

Yeah, it sounded like a reporterette asking that question. Something pretty much like, "President Clinton, what do you think of how some people are saying that the levee was broken on purpose?"

Where did that come from?

Add that question to the mayor saying maybe the CIA was going to take him out because he criticized the federal government.

I had no idea we had so many nutjobs around. Disasters seem to bring them out of the woodwork.

Fine. If you want to maintain that some sort of state action was a prerequisite to Federal action, go right ahead. What I'm saying - which is the same thing I said initially - is that the language of the NRP does not appear to me to offer any support for that position.

I have no desire to sit here and argue esoterica regarding the language of either the NRP or the Stafford Act. The NRP flat out says that issues of allocation of authority should not delay the response. So it makes no sense to argue that a delayed response was caused by issues of allocation of authority.

No, he's stabbing the Bushes in the back.

That's the reason they keep x42 so close, he can't do as much damage to them if they keep a handle on him. Hillary is less likely to mouth off too, though it's hard to keep either of those 2 reined in.

I swear, that's the first time hearing any conjecture about the levee being broken on purpose. I would love to know the name of the loon who shouted that one.

About Harrah's:

We've been there in 2003 when we took a day trip to New Orleans from where we were staying in Bay St. Louis. We aren't gambers but we just stepped inside the place to have a look at it.
