I don't see what the big deal was. I just watched the rerun. I've seen really nasty debates on O'Reilly and Hannity before. Bill Tatum is of a very high class and not of whatever that freeper was trying to get at with the mysterious 'unnamed community' thing. It's typical of the high class of liberal to make excuses.

Saw the segment... It was not as excitable as I thought it was reading some comments. She was uninformed and spouting her father's talking points. Deroy was calm and collected, more than I ever could be in the presence of liberal stupidity.

"The black gentleman was DeRoy Murdoch, a very intelligent columnist for, I believe, TownHall.com He is insightful, articulate and members of the black community would do well to listen to him and not the professional race baiters.

The woman was unprepared to back up anything she put forth. "

Yes he was and yes she was.

Unfortunately if these two were in front the an audience comprised of those that stayed behind in New Orleans. He would be labeled a "house niggah" and she would have been applauded.

yeah well, I think its more like she brought a knife to a gun fight and lost. She wasn't crazy and didn't act rude or anything, she just did have any proof about what she brought to the table so you start to roll your eyes when you hear this stuff.

I don't understand why it is important to bring these issues up now, why not save everyone first and come up with a plan to help them back into society. There is so much work to be done. There are children who don't know where their parents are and some are too young to be helpful with simple things like their name.

I think the real problem was the people in N.O. were complacent about the next hurricane that came down the pike and everyone said this is the big one like they have for the last forty years so they didn't realize the magnitude of the danger. Russian roulette and the people of N.O. lost.

It's always about ideology and not about the people with liberals.

At 27, Elinor Tatum has not let age prevent her from becoming the first female Editor in Chief of the Amsterdam News. This was an amazing success for a woman who...In December of 1997, Bill Tatum stepped down as Editor in Chief, passing the position to his daughter, Elinor Tatum.

I'm sure glad Elinor earned he job the hard way - she inherited from her father!

"Amsterdam News has dropped from 58,905 in 1977 to the current circulation of 25, 962 according to the New York Times . Ms. Tatum believes that the decrease in circulation is attributed to the increased competition from other black newspapers and the New York dailies. "

She seems to like to blame others, it would not occur to her circulation might be dropping because of her influence.

Someone made a very good point today, the terrorists are watching how we handle this and they're taking notes.

On a side note, I did like O'Reilly's idea of having retired generals investigate this out of the media spot light. If anyone can organize on a massive scale it is the military.

I nominate General Tommy Franks.

The female guest was an embarrisment

She was trying to convince Bill that it was Bush's responsibility to evacuate NOLA before the storm. She looked crushed when Bill took her to task.

Most white liberals are racists against whites.

Quite true as well, especially white males.

Liberals often try to change the meaning of a word until it fits their particular behavior. For example, the meanings of patriot and patriotism have been grotesquely twisted until they can apply to Michael Moore.

But of course such blacks are considered Uncle Toms by the majority black community (as well as white liberals). And that's why we don't know his name while we are only too familiar with Jesse Hijackson and Al Sharptongue.

The societal compact that people like John Locke and later our founders wrote about. It is the principles and rules by which a government exists and where they derive their right to govern along with citizen responsibility to uphold that compact. It is not socialism. I guess I best understand it by recognizing the fact that throughout all of recorded history man has been found in groups, small and large, thus implying some form of government has always existed and always will. The question remains what is the best form of government given human nature. Our Constitution is our compact, it is one of political liberty and limited Government. It is one of personal responsibility and based on Natural Rights. Liberty with overriding morality if you will, freedom to reason and to think and to accumulate wealth and property if you so desire. But that liberty did not mean license to do as one pleases if it hurt society as the welfare state does in creating a sense of entitlement and forcing our Government to abandon that compact. It did not mean freedom from religion, or freedom to break the law because of some perceived or real historical wrong by one group to another. It means exactly what our declaration says, That all men are created equal and are endowed by our creator. It does not mean that because you are poor you have a right to Plasma screens or shirking your responsibility to the Constitution and the laws of this country. Hope I got that right I'm sure if I didn't someone will let me know but thats how I understand it.
