Oh, I'm familliar with all of that. I am actually a barrel maker that makes cut rifled barrels. I'm wondering how Chinese people in rural China rifle barrels. Buttoning would be easiest but it still requires access to high precision tools and skilled toolmakers to make the buttons.
I would suspect they botton cut them nowadays also.
I wonder how they did it at the turn of the century
