The Swiss government is hosting two days of talks in Geneva in an effort to agree on a new emblem for the International red Cross.

Gee, I just looked at my Swiss Army Knife and there's that pesky symbol too!

All they have to do is rotate the symbol 45 degrees. The "Little Red X" is a universally recognized symbol.

Another attempt to bury the Christian legacy of mercy and compassion.

Why when I say Red Cross does a Red Cross spring into my mind?

How about this?
No religious significance that I know of and best of all...
It represents my intentions towards donating anything to the Red Cross.

In view of all this, why could not advantage be taken of a time of relative calm and quiet to investigate and try to solve a question of such immense and worldwide importance, both from the humane and Christian stand-point?

Henry Dunant, A Memory of Solferino

This is quote is from the founder of the Red Cross. No religious significance. Nope, none at all.
