It will be on C-SPAN. There was a thread yesterday discussing it. It will be shown on Saturday at 9 p.m. Eastern, and will be repeated a couple of times after that.

Hitchens IS a leftist but he's slowly coming around.
To: Minus_The_Bear
He would be an asset to our side.

Galloway just came out to massive applause...want to bet Hitch gets booed?
No way this can be a fair debate - everyone in the place is a barking moonbat!

Whoever is listening, could you please give us a play by play. I can't get any of the sites to work for me and neither c-span 1, or c-span 2 have it on.

Thanks for starting this thread.
Hitchens opens witha request for a moment of silence for the Iraqis murdered today in the terrorist attacks in Baghdad today. The audience followed his request.

Hitchens says the antiwar movement should be challenged on what would have happened if Saddam were left in power as they wished. Follows with noting Slobo would still be in power, as would the Taliban with al Qaeda still as their guests in Afghanistan if the antiwar faction had their way.

hitch making his first 15 min case right now. . pretty much following his latest published essays. Making the case for why the anti-war mov't is almost always wrong.
To: kristinn
Thanks, I hope Hitchens rips him a new one. I detest Galloway.

Hitchens says Iraq had forfeited its sovereignty as much as a state could. Four conditions that backed up that assertion were given.

Personally, I love hearing Christopher Hitchens, especially when he would debate and chat with his brother, who is quite conservative. I think that I saw the two of them on C-Span once, and it was enthrawling.
While I don't agree with much of Hitchen's philosophy, I do respect the man for the simple reason that he's honest and straight forward. He has principals, and he sticks by them. Finally, when he realizes that he's wrong, he'll admit it, and change his position. In all those ways he's diametricly opposed to most "lefties."

Hitchens starts listing the positives of the Iraq intervention. Says Saddam will follow Slobo and Pinochet into the dark.
Touting the Iraq constitution and the public debate that surrounded it. Says just distributing political leaflets under Saddam, as is done freely now, would result in a slow, tortuous death.
