This is a hard one. How can any media protect the viewers from someone coming on a show and spouting lies?
Well, they can verify later and issue corrections. But, it takes an awful lot of resources to verify everything said by all talking heads on TV.
Hmmmm.....at some point, you need to trust the people in power coming on a show.
They are professionals. They should know how to avoid this, but they love it and want it to be true, like Dan Rather and his fake memo story.
There should be an official response to such liars -- such as a public 'face slapping' in front of cameras and microphones.
another nail in the casket of MSM. Gotta love every bit of it. Savor these small victories. I bet they knew what they were getting, no misunderstandings.
