The Zimbabwean government has ordered the cancellation of title deeds for over 4,000 white-owned farms and vowed to take over all remaining white farms, a newspaper said on Friday. Patrick Chinamasa told reporters in the capital Harare that the cancellation of the deeds follows last month’s constitutional amendments barring white farmers from appealing to the courts against the government’s seizure of their land, the Herald newspaper said. “Government has directed the Registrar of Deeds to immediately nullify all title deeds to the 4,000 farms which have been nationalised,” the Herald said. Most of the farmers who had lost their land had challenged the takeovers in court. But last month lawmakers from President Robert Mugabe’s ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) party used their parliamentary majority to force through changes to the constitution which make all agricultural land state property. Agricultural production in Zimbabwe, once known as the breadbasket of southern Africa, has plunged dramatically in the years following the seizure of commercial farms for redistribution to new black farmers. – DPA

On the surface, keeping our DOMESTIC food supply secure, even economically, may appear to go against conservative principles. But, I'd sooner do so than rely on countries like Zimbabwe for my groceries. Hell, we're already between a rock and a hard place for oil!

Now that Zimbabwe has nationalized farms, and kicking those who know how to farm (the whites) out, The benifits should be seen in about a year.
It won't be like the Ukrainian famine though, because the west will send in food relief. Nobody knew about the forced famine in the Ukraine which killed well over 10 million people, because the NYT didn't tell anyone what their communist buddy's were doing.
At any rate, be prepared for Saturday TV to be morning to night pleas to give money to starving Africans. Don't forget, south Africa is doing the same thing, kicking out the white farmers.

I know I'll probaley get blasted but Africa was a better functioning continent when there were colonial powers present.There were established health care, educational,public services divisions that were run efficiently and trained the native countrymen; now the entire continent is one big cesspool run by corrupt,inept leaders who loot the countries tresuries and buy expensive cars,build massive mansions, erect statues of them selves and distribute monies to their cronies to stay in power.I do believe nothing will save these countries ever and we should not send a another dime to these bottomless donation pots. America has more than enough veterans and elderly that could be taken care of right here.

Now that Zimbabwe's "president for life", Mugabe, has shown himself to be a supreme racist thug and has completely destroyed his country, we hear nary a peep out of Cuomo and Koch and all the other POS liberals who are equally responsible for the tragedy that Rhodesia has become.

Africa is a waste of money. I agree 100% that we should quit pouring money into that cess pool.

Resettle all displaced Zimbabwean farmers to US. Resettle N.O. displaced to Zimbabwe.
