Take a look at this:

Dont worry sweetie, Vuitton is soooo over
Geraldo was just interviewing a mayor who's issued a "no return" order for her city...did anyone catch where that was?
Seems like a big mistake to me. The hardest part about deciding whether to evacuate is knowing how difficult it might be to come back. It keeps a lot of us home when we should be hitting the road. A "no return" order will certainly cause a lot of her residents to hunker down next time rather than head for high ground.
GOOD TO KNOW! I will FR mail you the link.
I have calculated the replacement cost (doesn't matter since I like it) but I am still trying to determine how high I will bid.
Oh, I love that!1 Especially the little doohicky on the top. It reminds me of some really old flatware hubby's grannie had.
I hope you get it!!

I went to the gas station near my house a little while ago to get some ice..(my icemaker on the blink)...
and the guy that runs the gas station is Vietnamese...and when I drove up, I noticed that all of the gas pumps had sold out signs on them..
When I went in, I asked how he was doing...he said he wanted to go home..and I said, "Sure, since you have no gas"..and he laughed and said it was "on a slow boat to China".
But, then he said that some customers were really getting mad at HIM for no gas...he has been out for 2 days, won't get any until Monday or Tuesday...
I said---well, just tell them it isn't your fault, it is Katrina and Rita's fault.
He got really SERIOUS, and shook his head and said, "oh, no, don't say such thing..that is Mother Nature..we must respect her"...and he was not joking at all.
You know the place, so straight up, no bs, what percentage af a total relief effort do you think would get stolen by corrupt government and those who back them in expectation of return favors?
I'm GLAD you like it! Seriously. It's from 1949 and this set has not been used. All the pieces are intact. All the extras too... even the large sald tong and fork, and spoon.
Each place setting has 6 pieces.
All are in a wonderful carved wood box too.
The usual take down here is 15 to 20 per cent off the top for graft, usual bribes, kickbacks etc. But also remember that no bid contracts go to relatives, cousins, sons in law, ex LSU football players. Now actual stealings, my guess is 10%. And to later fix what the crooked contracter did, may double the price.
I read somewhere that our defense budget exceeds the next ten biggest countries on earth, all put together.
That's probably true, but the powers that turn the planet still laugh at us.
For now.
Her-roll-dough, ust told the Mayor of Galveston how much he would like to come to the city again and watch a SUNSET over the water!!! hehehehe what a dope.

Doesn't Galveston have a bay?
Dang, that was in the days when they did better silver.
Grab that sucker and head for your dining room table and start polishing.
I am not making it up.
And I am probably low balling the theft/bribe/kickback part as I am a total innocent in the ways of crime.
For almost 20 years, my dad was a district manager for an evil big oil company and his district included NO. He said that graft and bribes were automatically factored in to any business transaction because that was the only way anything was done. They weren't talking small potatoes and the corruption went from top to bottom.
I have an abundance of silver cloths...lol. I am currently looking for two large silver candelabras at the auction. I don't want ANYTHING new.
Check this, guys:

I miss Dr. Frank.
I can think of less expensive solutions. Being a law abiding citizen and all, some of them are outside the range of choices available to me. But 20% of 300 bill is enough to get at least a few other people thinking.
Probably Galveston. They want to phase the return so there isn't gridlock going back to Houston Metro Area.
