FLASHBACK: HILLARY CLINTON SAYS INTERNET NEWS NEEDS 'RETHINK'
Drudge Report ^ | 9/25/05 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 09/25/2005 2:29:17 PM PDT by wagglebee

China on Sunday imposed new media restrictions designed to limit the news and other information available to Internet users, sharply restricting the scope of content that can be posted on Web sites.

Hillary Rodham Clinton said IN 1998 during a meeting with reporters said that "we are all going to have to rethink how we deal with" the Internet because of the handling of White House sex scandal stories on Web sites.

Clinton was asked whether she favored curbs on the Internet, after the DRUDGE REPORT made headlines with coverage of her husband's affair with a White House intern. "We are all going to have to rethink how we deal with this, because there are all these competing values ... Without any kind of editing function or gatekeeping function, what does it mean to have the right to defend your reputation?" she said.

Hillary Clinton Continued:

"I don't have any clue about what we're going to do legally, regulatorily, technologically -- I don't have a clue. But I do think we always have to keep competing interests in balance. I'm a big pro-balance person. That's why I love the founders -- checks and balances; accountable power. Anytime an individual or an institution or an invention leaps so far out ahead of that balance and throws a system, whatever it might be -- political, economic, technological --out of balance, you've got a problem, because then it can lead to the oppression people's rights, it can lead to the manipulation of information, it can lead to all kinds of bad outcomes which we have seen historically. So we're going to have to deal with that. And I hope a lot of smart people are going to --"

REPORTER: Sounds like you favor regulation.

MRS. CLINTON: Bill, I don't know what -- that's why I said I don't know what I'm in favor of. And I don't know enough to know what to be in favor of, because I think it's one of those new issues we've got to address. We've got to see whether our existing laws protect people's right of privacy, protect them against defamation. And if they can, how do you do that when you can press a button and you can't take it back. So I think we have to tread carefully.

I heard that! Rush is hilarious! You also must have heard his parody of Cindy Sheehan Friday to the tune of "Windy" by the Association. "Who says the war was started by Jews? Everyone knows it's Cindy."

If Hillary gets in, you need to plan your Saturday mornings with the DC Chapter at the White House.

A Hillary Presidential campaign is only a reality in the MSM and Liberals wet dreams. She would not survive the primaries... there are still lots of open investigations that may implicate her before 2008.

I don't really know much about Hillary as I wasn't very politically aware during the 90s. But what little I do know and see makes me positive she is NOT in the best interest of our country, or any other democrats in the arena right now. Their basic philosophy is flawed.

If only what you said could really be true. Sure, we get the news on the net, but I live around so many people who if they have a computer, use it to play games and send chain letter emails. They still depend on the MSM for their news, and their comments and beliefs reflect that.

Because the Main Stream Media can rely on the DemonRATS to put curbs on the Internet in ways that it benefits them, you will see the Main Stream Media giving more support for DemonRATS. This situation also holds for talk radio. If the DemonRATS can find ways to limit talk radio, this helps their allies in the Main Stream Media.

With Hitlary's veiled threat on the Internet, this is her effort to put the Main Stream Media on notice that she will pull the plug on the Internet for their benefit. This is a signal to the Main Stream Media that it is to their benefit to promote her effort to win the presidency in 2008. Once we realize what she is up to, does the evil of what she represents come out of the closet. She is trying to keep her true colors under the radar. However, it is our mission to blast away at the truth so that her claws never grasp the levers of power of the presidency.

Watch for similar hints about regulating talk radio.

I would be highly surprised if Hillary Rodham didn't (clandestinely) organize some sort of attack on Free Republic about 6 months before the first presidential primary.

I think that Stalinist (and Alinski-ist?) repression of unapproved questions and dissent might be just her style.

Pesky Internet.

But what does the MSM report? Do they ever even show the photo of Clinton groping a stewardess?

Sharon Davis: I Was Groped, Too

Newsmax ^ | 10/6/03 | Carl Limbacher

Even California first lady Sharon Davis wants to get into the act, diving into the Schwarzenegger accusathon Sunday night to detail her own humiliating groping experience while working as a mini-skirted flight attendant decades ago.

"I worked for the airlines," Mrs. Davis told CNN's "Larry King." "In fact, I worked for PSA when we wore short little uniforms."

"Because of the type of uniform we wore people felt like they could take liberties and it was humiliating and so I understand [why Arnold's accusers are upset]," she explained.

Asked if male passengers had ever grabbed her, Mrs. Davis told King, "Oh, well, yes. Or they would say things that you would know they would never want said to their daughter or their wife or their girlfriend or their niece and it's so humiliating."

She said she identified with Arnold's alleged grope victims, explaining, "I understand these women not coming forward because you're so humiliated. You really want to put it out of you mind. You want to just put it behind you but it's really always there."

Mrs. Davis did not explain how she managed to endure the company one of her husband's most prominent supporters, serial sexual predator Bill Clinton, while suffering through her grope flashbacks.

Were they reporting this about Clinton? NO.
All of these groping stories made it to the front pages when a Republican (Arnold Schwarzenegger) had the audacity to run for Governor
