gee, thanks, Howlin ... seeing the headline brought a HUGE smile to my face .. then your post drew a few tears. But this IS a great for the US Constitution, and I'm sure Rehnquist is smiling down on all of us, especially his successor. This is just further proof of the widsom of our Founders and our system of government ... peaceful transition of power at all levels and branches of government (Biden, et al. notwithstanding)

"...no shortage of hypocrisy in Washington.."

in fairness, the challenge to "UnderGod" came out of California and was supported by a Carter appointed federal judge on the 9th Circuit ... it hasn't gotten back up to "Washington" yet ... it's still California's baby.

Sorry kempster, we have two pot holes across town, he has to have priorities!

What a great day. It is wonderful to say the words Chief Justice Roberts, after he withstood grilling by the most unethical, loathsome and immoral leaders in this country, Kennedy for example.

Let us hope God continues to grant wisdom and clarity to President Bush and Chief Justice Roberts.

I am glad that Roberts was approved and sworn in as Chief Justice. I have high hopes for him. It will be interesting to settle back now, and watch his decisions come down.

I love the way Jack points and laughs at Harry Reid crying in the left wing of the room.

Bush should nominate Roberts wife. How cool would that be? A husband and wife on the court. Pro-lifers at that.

I'm wondering if Rhenquist didn't have some input on this.
Maybe this has already been discussed and I missed it,
but that seems reasonable.
