They have two children (charlie and her) , she is the ex-wife of charlie sykes. If the President wants to know her views on roe v wade I am sure charlie could tell him (Charlie has had the president on his show a couple times, thus they know each other). Her being divorced is actuall a good thing in trying to portray her as a 'modern woman' to the liberal fanatics.
The fact she was appointed to the federal bench as a result of Feingold< Kohl, and Sensenbrenner collaborating is the key here people. The only way the president can get a solid conservative through without the nuclear option is to use Feingold and Kohl. How can they oppose a woman who THEY recommended to the federal bench?
Would you vote for a divorcee for President?
And wouldn't it be cool to have another Milwaukee area native back on the Supreme Court? Rehnquist passes and Diane moves in . .
Question: Is she Catholic and Divorced with Children? I saw a few posts elsewhere on that she is "a devout Catholic" yet I'm hearing she is divorced? I'd like to get the whole story on this...
Repeat after me:
"Because they're DEMOCRATS!"
bttt
Huh? How old is the pic? Looks like a typical professional shot to me. What's the big deal?
I disagree, it will only reduce the support of the very conservative base but the liberal fanatics will never be appeased unless Saddam Hussein himself is nominated.
The problem that I forsee is that she is supposedly a practicing Catholic and divorced. This will be pointed out by the left and some on the right as a hypocracy because of all of the "Kerry, Kennedy is a heretic" talk.
If she is separated from her Husband it is a slightly different thing. As I said earlier, more information is needed.
As far as her legal qualifications they seem impressive.
I did not vote for Kerry.
one can be a "devout Catholic" and divorced.
Kennedy and Kerry both have remarried. I would never refer to either of them as "devout Catholics". Their pro abortion views are what ignited the Communion controversy. (As well it should.) They should be excommunicated.
Twice?
Quite separated - the ex-husband has remarried.
She is divorced. Not separated. D-I-V-O-R-C-E-D.
Not that it makes a hill o' beans to me, but she's not just separated. Her ex is remarried, and I think she is, too.
Ya beat me to it.
Look for the name Mahoney the female John Roberts.
More information on Mahoney please....Like first name.
I voted for Reagan
Reagan was divorced. Didn't hurt him.
And the proper question to ask is not how she feels about R v W but whether she is a strict constructionist. The two are not necessarily the same.
Sorry dear.
