From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

You're doin' good, Mom... keep it up.

This certainly smells like a jihadi bombing, but the most startling aspect of it is the glaring MEDIA BLACKOUT.

Au contraire! You two ladies have done some very important work here today. Keep this story alive.

I wonder how many of the thousands who read here will be just a bit more vigilant at this Saturday's college football games?

You know that at this point the MSM is going to be very reluctant to cover this story at all. How would they explain how little they covered it in the first place. To cover it now would get many people asking..."How come I never heard about this?"

OK.

Keep ALL of this SPECIFIC REPORT in your "file of things that the press will never mention again because it isn't politically correct"

See, it sounds like the roommate (who was distinctive enough known by a near-by Muslim!) fled the area immediately...

Was stupid enough to leave bomb parts (active explosives!) IN the room

Was smart enough to con his roommate into "dropping off" the backpack INSIDE the stadium

Was stupid enough to pick a dumb/ignorant/impossible-to-train/known-by-the-university-president-to-have-personalproblems "engineering student" that couldn't follow instructions/didn't follow instructions/wanted to find out what was in the backpack/wanted to see what kind of bomb his roommate built. (Then again, he just might have been a typical engineering student ......)

The only place I know of is to look back in the "title" listing of the first message summary of FIRST time the thread was posted.

Of course, 4000 odd posts ago, you can't find that listing.

Douglas Hageman (sp)....he talks with couple of police before the Feds took over...

Heinrichs has ties with roommates that have ties to ME terrorism....police say there is possibility of Middle Easterners in this area...Pakistani...lived with 1 or 2 students from Pakistan...

Enough evidence will be collected to find out this was jihadi related and the some ME men will be involved...BUT, the police office said that he isn't supposed to say anything...

The police officer said that after it happened...he watched the crowd just nonchalantly walking out of the stadium...not believing that his happened and no one seems concerned... A lot of explosive material out of bombers apartment, and a lot of jihadist literature....explosives similar to the London bombers and Richard Reid.... The fact that a college student in USA strapped bombs to body to commit suicide??? NOT LIKELY.... Okay ya'll that is shorthand notes of the reports that the talk show host had re: Oklahoma Suicide... Said that the police that were giving this information, did it to the Douglas guy before the Feds came...and shut them up...and they won't talk now... I doubt if there is much here that ya'll haven't probably already heard/read....but this is all I have heard today..

If this is true, they won't be able to keep it a secret for very long.

We're trying to spin this as long as possible ...

Easiest way to find the number of page views is to search on the original poster's name: "blogblogginaway". Then scroll down through this person's posts until you find the original post of this thread, where the number of hits will be listed.

Eastbound's technique is much faster if you remember the thread title. If you only recall the poster's name, then search on that name and scroll down.

I haven't been on the thread...just posted what I heard...and the link to Greg Knapp's show...

you said it sounded like he was reading from some "site"...and I agree, it did sound like it...but since I haven't been here, could you fill me in on what "site" you are referring to??

Also, did you hear the girl that called in, saying that her cousin (an ex-roommate) was questioned by the FBI on Sunday morning for 3 hours...but she said he couldn't tell her about what...

Do you believe her??

Here's that story (Jan 2004), which has intrigued me too:

http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:pVl6F5cGjQAJ:www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/155031p-136286c.html+new+york+apartment+media+terror+terrorism+jennings&hl=en

How does Steven Brill manage to maneuver himself into the white-hot center of nearly everything?
The answer is doubtless too grand and full of nuance for a mere gossip column.

Suffice it to say that that on Tuesday night the 53-year-old Brill - journalist, media mogul and national I.D. card entrepreneur - hosted a summit between Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and the major television network news divisions.

Sitting around the dinner table with Ridge at Brill's Fifth Ave. apartment - to hash over terrorism scenarios, government-to-media communications and other pressing issues - were NBC's Tom Brokaw, ABC's Peter Jennings (along with news President David Westin), CBS News President Andrew Heyward, Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes and CNN's Aaron Brown.

Dan Rather, recovering from facial surgery, couldn't make it, but Brill's wife, Cynthia, and two of their children listened and learned.

"The dinner was a wide-ranging discussion about international terrorism and domestic security," Jennings told me. "The topics included the challenge for the networks if, God forbid, there was ever another catastrophe similar to 9/11."

Fox News' Ailes said: "I think we got a little better understanding of their process and how they make their decisions of what they're going to announce to the public. Anytime you have conversations about homeland security, it's always interesting."

I'm told that Brill, who befriended Ridge while working on his post-9/11 book "After," engineered the off-the-record government-media exchange out of a belief that "thousands of lives can be saved depending on the kind of information that is on television in the first hour after an event."

Last year, Brill founded a nonprofit group to address the challenges of homeland security.

The dinner, said Homeland Security spokesman Brian Roehrkasse, was "one of a number of ongoing efforts to have a continuing dialogue with the media to determine how we can best work together

Ooops!

I cut off part of the last sentence -- here it is completed:

"The dinner, said Homeland Security spokesman Brian Roehrkasse, was "one of a number of ongoing efforts to have a continuing dialogue with the media to determine how we can best work together to get timely and accurate information to the American people."

I don't know if it's been posted yet, I haven't had time to review the last couple hundred posts, but local CBS affiliate News 9 in OKC just did a story less than an hour ago that said Hinrichs had been seen at the Islamic Center near his home, his room mate was a Pakastani and Hinrichs tried to buy some ammonium nitrate last week. I posted this same info on my blog here. As soon as they post the link on their website, probably tonight, I'll put a link up. Boren better come up with a better story.

The ended the report by saying the Islamic center had been silent on this story so far.

Hinrichs tried to buy some ammonium nitrate last week.

Well, well, well. Thanks for that information. Luckily a few people are able to get some details out about this story.

We'll all be old and gray before the lame-stream gets around to it, it seems. Thanks for the link to your blog, looks very interesting. Will look around there.

Michael Savage's sub Rick Roberts is talking about this story now, if anyone wants to listen.

He's saying that in the nearly one hour press conf today with the Pres, not one question was asked about this, or borders, or illegal aliens -- though some reporter asked the very important question about steroids and baseball.

Rick Roberts is one smart dude, and is much more calm and logical than Savage. He's a former oil industry attorney, and he does the morning drive talk show at KFMB-San Diego. Roger Hedgecock does the afternoon show at KFMB. Rick is a real sharp guy...trained in law, economics, and logic. Liberal troll callers can't slip anything past him.

I'll try, but am not too great at this transcribing!

Rick Roberts is saying the only way we got by this is that the idiot set it off before there were many people around.

Someone called and said that he thinks the govt is keeping incidents like this quiet to protect moslems who may be subjected to retaliation after something like this.

The host says that is no reason to keep the American people in the dark, we have laws against hate crimes, if people commit them, they should be prosecuted, but we should not have information like this kept from us.
