Facing Abductor, Girls Proved Martial Arts Training {10 year olds whup teacher]

When the masked man attacked them inside their bedroom in the middle of the night Sunday, the twin 10-year-old girls responded just as they had been taught in their martial arts class: They fought back.

The commotion woke their parents, who rushed in and thought they recognized the tall, ponytailed intruder. The girls' father whacked him with the base of a table lamp and yanked off part of his mask. As the intruder ran from the Vienna townhouse, the parents were pretty sure it was "Andy," an instructor at Mountain Kim Martial Arts studio in Vienna, where their daughters take classes every week, the mother told police.

Hours later, Andrew Jacobs, 42, a part-time instructor at the studio who holds a black belt, was arrested at the brick house he shares with his sister, not far from the girls' home. Yesterday, he appeared in court, with a black eye and bruises on his face, on charges of assault, attempted abduction and burglary. A judge ordered him held without bond.

"What kind of idiot tries to abduct children that he knows for a fact know martial arts???"

Kind of reminds me of Inspector Cluseau's assistant...always attacking Cluseau by surprise to keep him in tip top shape..

This is a classic example of, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Obviously, the young girls were the doers and the abductor was the teacher.

I guess it's too much to hope for that that red mark between his eyes is a . . . naah, if it were, he'd look surprised instead of evil.

This one should be on mugshots.com.

I bet he regrets the day when his jail friends hear this story.

Reminds me of a Seinfeld where Kramer was taling a Karate in a class full of nine year olds.

They finally ganged up on him and beat him up in the alley.

A happy ending to a good story. I take martial arts myself, so these kinds of stories interest me.

My ultimate home protection set up: the dog barks to wake me, and I use firearms (and since I live in Kentucky, we are actually allowed to have them) while I have ammunition. If I run out, then my 2nd degree blackbelt comes in handy.

Kind of reminds me of Inspector Cluseau's assistant...always attacking Cluseau by surprise to keep him in tip top shape..

Ahh yes, Cato. One of the funniest acts in that whole series of movies.

"Cato....CATO!! This is your employer speaking. I am calling off the attack plans for tonight!"

After his arrest, Jacobs told police that he intended to tie up the residents to "keep everybody quiet" while he stole valuables, including "loose money, jewelry and VCRs."

That's some buuuuuuull-****. Those little girls are lucky this guy's a complete boob.

Well, first they were only blue belts, and second, it doesn't matter how well trained a kid is -- she is NEVER going to be able to overpower a healthy male adult. The size difference is just too much, and going to class once or twice a week for a few years doesn't exactly make a kid Steven Segal. There's a whole lot of difference between karate class and a real life or death self defense situation.

My 7-year old takes martial arts. They learn the forms and do all the basic martial arts stuff, but the instructors always stress that their most important weapon is their mouth -- as in screaming at the top of your lungs: "Please let me go I don't like that." The idea is that the best defense for a kid is to make a scene, make a lot of noise to attract the attention of other adults, and to try to run away as soon as possible.

There are some high level belts in my daughter's class, and I seriously doubt that any one of them could overpower the instructor.

The best thing is all his new buddies in the jailhouse will get to read how the little girls beat him up.
