'Hardball' host Chris Matthews discussed the latest in the Plame leak case with MSNBC's Amy Robach on Wednesday morning. Here's an excerpt of what he had to say:
...............If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week and they are going to blow this White House apart.
It's going to be unbelievable.
I think the people watching right now who are voters better start paying attention to this issue. It's not just about whether somebody's name was leaked, it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not, whether people knew about that or not, and what they did when they were charged against that kind of offense against the United States.
It's serious business.

Dang...did you hear Bob Shrum just say that Bush got the Iraqi election "fixed"????
Ed Rogers didn't even blink when he said that...what is up with that?
FGS, Matthews keeps talking about someone being "turned" like this is the Mafia. This is ridiculous.
I don't have a TV, not that I'd tune in to Chris M. if I did, but can anyone tell me if he's had Rep. Curt Weldon on in the last year or so?
And, at the end of the segment, Chrissy said they aren't going to bet, but they would talk later????
This is utterly insane.
Election Day 2004 Exit Polls are more reliable than MSNBC.
Is Olberman still doing stories on Ohio voter fraud?
Is anyone listening to the Hugh Hewitt Show? I just tuned in and heard that a lady just called and said Judy Miller had already written a book and may have known Valerie Plame for a long time...Jeb Babin is hosting tonight and said he was going to the bookstore tomorrow...
If you worked in the Administration, and "turned or flipped" like Chrissy is saying....you must not want a long term career in politics....
Wouldn't you be a HERO to Chrissy and gang, but any politician would HAVE to be leery of every hiring you again.
I wonder if tomorrow's Hardball will feature a segment on Mass-Murderer Saddam Hussein?
Is that drool or was Bill Clinton in the MSNBC studios?
IMHO, Chrissy fell off the wagon a long time ago.
Um, I don't know if Chrissy has ever uttered the words, Able Danger....if that is what you want to know.
Now Chris is hoping for a "manifesto" by Fitz. The speaker wants a report even if there isn't an indictment, which we all know by now is not allowed, but there it is, still out there. If we can't indict, please say something ugly about the Administration. Oh, Chrissy thinks there won't be a report because there'll be an indictment. By golly, this is fascinating. I guess watching crazy people is, like passing a wreck on the highway.
From that last little sequence with Rich and Byron York...
You could really tell that the left DO NOT want a report if there are no indictments...I guess because it MIGHT just verify the lies of Wilson, the nepotism of Plame...and the idiocy of the charges...

HARDBALL: COULD BUSH LOSE THE ELECTION OVER THIS?

LOL. Thanks for the reminder. They have been at this for a long time. Maybe Bush will lose next time. Actually, now they are just after Republicans, so I can't lose sight of that.
Who?
Chrissy just totally ignored and discounted York...when he said that all others thought there were weapons, and even the previous Administration...
Chrissy is trying to make the case that the White House USED the NYTimes to spread knowingly FALSE information...and also totally bamboozled a 4 Star General...Colin Powell into unwittingly playing into their dastardly plans....
BWAhhhhaaaaaaaaa
I rarely watch Matthews anymore and didn't realize that he also attacked Chalabi. It figures though, when I did watch he couldn't contain his seething hatred of Cheney and the so called neo-cons (who backed Chalabi). I was interested to learn that Judith Miller also has a long standing relationship with Chalabi.
You are absolutely right about "its the funniest show on television". He is so over the top -- I watch his show only for the laugh factor, and I let him know it every day by email in which I give him specific examples why. MSNBC is so far gone...that their ratings are off the (bottom) of the charts. Chrissy is a fool.
Hildy, the problem is once again the GOP, The President, the President's men, whoever allowed the dems to frame the issue.
Bush made nice instead of coming out swinging. He even apologized, for God's sake. Instead of taking Wilson to task, instead of fighting lies with the truth, he played nice. It has bitten us in the butt once again, the damage is cumulative.
You are right...it is a story from nothing and it did not have to be that way.
He said that they had the information "force fed" to them. By the Clintoons????
You aren't alone, but his meltdown has attracted some of us to tune in. Regarding the Chalabi matter, I am quite interested in that, recalling the raid on his offices, the attempt to make him appear as a criminal. That went nowhere, but it was quite the story at the time. There are some very nefarious plots that go on about I wish I knew a whole lot more.

All I know is what I don't read in the papers
OHIO VOTER FRAUD - According to Keith.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6368819
what they did when they were charged against that kind of offense against the United States.
I haven't heard of anyone being charged yet, and certainly
not for anything like this.
What kind of blather is this?
Exactly.
Shrum called him Bush's Brain because these people have NO CLASS...and NO ARGUEMENT....therefore, they have to fall back on kids games of calling people names...
You don't understand.
Chris has "inside info" about what Fitzgerald is doing.
Fitzgerald is so serious about people who violated the law and leaked information that he is allowing people in his team to violate the law by leaking information to the press, aka. Chris Matthews, who would be violating law by recieving the secret information. Wait?
It is a circle of stupidity.
Or not.... jacka$$.
I am also interested in that. I didn't know what to make of that raid...there was a lot of back and forth and I remember Condi Rice, when asked about it, saying that he would have his opportunity in the future. (She didn't seem to act as if the charges were credible. It was more like time will tell attitude.) When I read about the Chalabi-Miller relationship I thought of that raid and how it, like the Plame investigation, seemed to highlight some element within our government at war with the Bush administration.
I think this is the book.
Eau d' Chris
Chris Matthews will rarely make sense.
(Perhaps 'cause his brain is too tense.)
As he spews forth ridiculous gaffes,
He spits and he giggles and laughs.
His guests sit far back, in defense.
Exactly right. Same reason you indict I guess, you have no ideas and can't win any elections.
Here is the link to the book on Amazon. You can actually go inside the book and look thru the index.

Just had a thought...is it "Sweeps" week?
and:
"I think the people watching right now who are voters better start paying attention to this issue."
That's Chrissy admitting that most of the losers who watch his show don't even vote.
" the problem is once again the GOP, The President, the President's men, whoever allowed the dems to frame the issue.

Amen.
My gut tells me that there is a common denominator in the West Wing who continues to give bum advice to President Bush.
The architect of the " make nice to the Democrats, Scott McClellan is a great spokesman , let's bring back Bill Clinton and Harriet Miers would be a home run " should be fired.
I fear this same person is still a trusted consigliere .
Dear God, how can we ever stop the left from destroying this administration?
Great Bible quote and very a' propos regarding Chris Matthews.
He is going to die old and alone, embittered and spitting.
A Democratic politico and alledged TV journalist gives us his opinion. The Dems are swine, and Matthews is a prime example. They will search for anything to bring down this Administration.
Maybe Jamie Gorelick threatened to kick his a$$ if he did. LOL
By the way...very interesting interview in the latest issue of The Limbaugh Letter with Congressman Weldon.
