Tony Snow Exposes Bill Maher As Clueless Moron
Patterico's Pontifications ^ | 10/30/05 | Patterico

Like a rubbernecker drawn to a train wreck, I am drawn towards that Bill Maher show. He’s one of those people you love to hate, and his show is most interesting when he has someone articulate on his show who opposes his point of view. So I watched when Christopher Hitchens was on recently. And I watched last night when Tony Snow was on.

Tony absolutely ripped Maher up.

He exposed Maher for the clueless fraud he is. And he did it with a smile. It was an amazing performance. If you have HBO, you have to watch it in reruns this week.

As much as I hate to give ratings to Maher, or even to see one of our guys like Tony Snow give him the time of day, Tony apparently decided that if he was going to play in Maher's sand box he wasn't gonna leave without taking a big ol' dump there. And for that, Tony's effective fact-dump deserves mention and appreciation. Just my opinion.

Watched it last night... there was nothing that Mahr or Billy Connelly could retort... all they could muster was talking points and mindless drivel... they were not able to back up their point of view at all...

It's ratings that determine how much he gets

That's exactly what I was saying.

Tell me again why Ann Coulter goes on his show and considers him a friend.

Not exactly. If he doesn't get ratings, even HBO will dump him eventually.

Hey...look at Tony's appearance as a "Public Service message"....he is actually getting the truth to people that obviously do NOT get it regularly..since they got upset when Tony told the truth about Joe Wilson's lies...

If Bill Maher wants to come on Free Republic and spar with some of the very, very smart and quick freepers...I say, bring him on...he would be mincemeat in 10 minutes.

No question about it.

Bingo! That was exactly my thought, on reading the thread title.

even HBO will dump him eventually.

That was implicitly inferred in my post. Obviously if his ratings were real low HBO would dump him.

"Libs never let an obstacle like 'facts' or 'the truth' stand in the way of their agenda/talkingpoints."

Or appear in an arena/penel which is heavily stacked with their fellow travellers.

Armed with the truth, it only takes one conservative with backbone to whip the liberals and Maher just found that out last friday.

The other liberal/socialist guests tried to arrograntly shout down Tony but he calmly refluted their ridicule.

A Good night's work for Tony.

"So I guess Snow won't be returning as a guest on this show..."

Don't so, Bill HATES to be showed up for the ignorant fool he is.

He'll stick with pseudo Cons like Joe Scarsborough.

Like many endeavors, it is not necessarily the goal, but the means of getting there that is fulfilling.

I understand Richard Clarke was also on the show. I wouldn't turn on my TV set to watch Richard Clarke. All he has to show for his years as a government terrorism expert were numerous terrorist attacks in the 90's, culminating in 9/11. That, plus his statement to the 9/11 Commission that Sandy Berger was a great National Security advisor, is enough for me. I wonder if he changed his opinion after Sandy stole his memos out of the National Archives. Or do all these people have a mutual interest in hiding the truth?

There aren't many people who KNOW about the Senate Intelligence Committee report. Ask any 100 people and 99 of them will look at you dumbfounded and think you are misinformed or lying.

You'll lose 93 of them at the word "Senate."

I'm always in favor of demonstrating that folks like Mr. Maher don't know what they're talking about. It should be done more often. If they're going to use their shows as a forum to attack Bush, they should be prepared to defend themselves against charges that they don't have a clue.

Tell me again why Ann Coulter goes on his show and considers him a friend.

I'll tell you. Like him or not (and I'm in the "not" category), "Politically Incorrect" marked the television debut for Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham, among others, even if the most likely reason he had them on was to hit on them. Remember that the reason why Barbara Olson was on the hijacked plane on 9/11 was that she was flying out to do Maher's show. I remember my first experience watching Ingraham and Peggy Noonan sitting side-by-side during the '96 election run-ups - yowza!

So, while he's a arrogant, ignorant little man who is the epitomy of spouting liberal pap in an attempt to get laid, Maher has been good at giving exposure to conservative pundits.

But that will never happen, because the people who are the Maher types only can spout what someone else tells them, with no thought or logic involved. No wonder why Tony Snow exposed him for being a fraud.

Excellent Work, Tony. Thanks for getting out the public service announcement.
