Check out the logo in the background in this photo, which is currently up on Drudge in regard to the news that CNN anchor Aaron Brown has been fired.
Note the background logo: "America Strikes Back." Coincidence? I don't think so! Nice work, Drudge!
I think Brown is going to end up taking over for Jennings.
Why was he fired?
I think he'll just hide away and write a bitter book about the stupid heathens out here who could not understand his understated and quiet nuance (BARF).
Here's an article that gives background on the firing:
The article buries the most important point at the bottom: Greta Van Susteren's ratings at Fox took off when Brown was put up against her!
What is "CNN"?
On my cable service, CNN is channel 13. How appropriate.
What happened to that tall gal that left Fox to do the morning show for CNN and then was moved to the evening? I never watch CNN, so I have not kept up with their moves.
I think this paragraph is extremely telling. Someone should tell these people it should not be storytelling. It is reporting the news.
That seems like it would be a mistake...
IOW yet again, FOX is number one with a boring talent before the camera because the boring talent has zero competition.
It is as if fox is the only new network in the face of the other wana-bes.
AND fox reruns their stuff at 11!
He was an anchor in Seattle for years.
Every time I see that smirk I wanna hurl...
Based on how sh&ty he was on that show surprised me that he ever got another newscast job - cable or otherwise.
If ABC were to put him in Jennings job it would just help continue the demise of network news broadcasting.
Please, ABC, grab'em up and put him on air - PLEASE!
I have never heard of Arron Brown and I know absolutely nothing about him. Why, you ask? Because I will not degrade myself by watching CNN, and I haven't watched CNN in more than four years.
He was fired because he needed a "much needed break" to spend more time with his family. :-)
CNN thinks Cooper was a star during the hurricane coverage because he got great ratings then tool
Considering Whorealdo and Shep Smith, even I watched Cooper Anderson, or is it Anderson Cooper!?
Yes, everyone enjoys watching Anderson Cooper stand sideways in a hurricane, followed by his shrieking tantrums because the hurricane has been over for five minutes and the government hasn't rebuilt the entire state as Disneyland and moved everyone into the equivalent of Trump Towers, rent free!
SURELY there are people out there that are actually qualified to report the news. Somewhere. Without shrieking and hyperventilating.
Clearly he was not ready for prime time.
CNN has the drunk Cafferty to more than make up for Brown's bias.
Anderson Cooper...will they ever learn?
I confess - I confess.
I have watched CNN recently. Not my choice but CNN is blaring out every time I have to wait in a doctor's office.
What's with this one channel only thing with waiting rooms?
I finally found an Ortho Doc who has Fox on.... and a whole wall devoted to 9/11 WTC pictures. His group are fine - made my broken arm feel a little better not having to watch CNN while waiting for another X-ray.
For the money CNN must have been paying him, you'd think he could afford a handkerchief so he could blow his nose occasionally.
Brown has already worked for ABC. I liked him then. Wonder what changed him?????
right on. And Jerry Rivers and Greta are no better.
He flunked the Tangerine vs Melon section of his Color Differentiation Test. Cooper aced it.
LOL! America is "staying away in droves" from CNN!
I watch South Park at 10:00 p.m.(EST)when Greta is on, and I've never heard of Jerry Rivers either.
Particularly when Brown was interviewed on the golf course saying "hey, what goes up must come down. What's the big deal? Fore!" ;-)
LOL - Yeah, I'll admit to not knowing who either are, other than through these threads.
CNN is smart..they are losing market share....so they will replace him with another liberal....see I told you...Cnn is smart
And the long-form programs, like 60 Minutes, have the TIME to tell a complex story--they just aren't fair and balanced. So you get a 45-minute Democrat Party commercial (or at least a 45-minute anti-conservative message).
...wonderful fairy tales.
he was hurt by a widely reported story in 2003 that he didn't cut short a golf outing to come to work on the day the Columbia space shuttle disintegrated.
That seems like it would be a mistake...
Depends on what he was shooting at the time.
No kidding, its really no wonder Fox is so far out in front. The competition just can't hold it together. I feel like every day I turn around and CNN's changing something or firing someone!
Cafferty is an embarrassment.
Blitzer gets orgasmic at Cafferty's rantings.
Good Lord. I though Wolf had a little more class than that.
Whatever gave you the idea that Blitzed had any class at all?
Good question. I just see his face when I'm channel surfing so I guess I haven't gotten the bigger picture.
CNN is the enemy of civilized society.
LOL. He's got that NPR feel to him, doesn't he.
You know, I've stopped watching the news. I can't find, even on Fox, reporting that give me what I get on freerepublic.
Yeah, I could run over him, and still not know who he is.
Except for that arrogant quote a couple of years ago. He said "He was the face of CNN".
The last time I really watched CNN was when Israel was surrounding Arafat yet again, and Arafat was wigging
(whigging?) out on a call to Amapour.
I agree that his tell-all book is going to be pretty juicy.
There are so many things going wrong at CNN, that there are bound to be some great back-stabbing and passing-the-buck stories!
