Possible scenario: staffer discovers she is pregnant and decides to have an abortion, but doesn't know who the father is, or the father can't afford to pay...so she has a quick fling with Corzine, then tells him a while later that she is pregnant...so he pays thinking it's his kid.

I hope he loses, but that question the reporter asked has no place in politics.

At least Corzine isn't gay.

But I bet he would be if that's what he needed to do to win.

We had a GREAT candidate--Bret Schundler. Forrester outspent him 3 to 1 and slimed him late in the campaign.

But wasn't Schundler the GOP candidate in '01 who flip-flopped on guns & got only about 42% of the vote in the general? Or is it a different Schundler?

The Star Ledger endorsed FORRESTER, which was a major suprise...the Times is the only area to openly endorse corzine.

Yeah, but that assumes that any floozy staffer could throe herself at Corzine and get him into bed with her. Still makes Corzine looke like a hosebag.

Don't remember a flip-flop on guns, though that's not a key issue for me. He lost because he was openly stabbed in the back by the NJGOP, who were determined to keep out a reforming, pro-life candidate. Also, he was in Israel on 9/11, and lost two weeks campaigning. GWB reneged on a promise to campaign for him towards the end because he was concerned about looking too "political" after 9/11--not Dubya's finest moment.

Rick Shaftan wrote an article on Schundler's mistakes in '01. For the gun issue, check out #3. Of course, the mishandling of one issue doesn't excuse the NJGOP's RINO-ism.

I didn't know they had governor's elections in odd numbered years. I thought they were all in even numbered years.

OK, we can't set our standards quite as high in the Blue States.

Corzine's likely response. "No she was really Lautenberg's mistress. I only wrote the checks".

Maybe Michael Schiavo can endorse Corzine since he's into endorsing governor races up that way.

Not to speak of half the voters in the local cemetarys voteing.. The only question is which democrat they vote for.. Thats what the big uproar is about.. In Jersey the most "connected" gets those votes.. Is is quite unfair..
