NO MERE WORDS can express the gratitude and appreciation we send to the heroic men and women in our armed forces both past and present.

Thank you to my own family members who have given so much so that we can live peacefully and so that people all over the world can obtain the same freedoms and opportunities we enjoy here.

Thank you heroes! Thank you to your families who have borne the pain and suffering of their heroes away from home.

I have been known to add punch lines to stories but I never fabricate.

Never, ever, not even to tell a fairy tale?

I hope the Cindy Sheehans and so called peaceniks of the world get a chance to reflect on Mill's wise words.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself" -- John Stuart Mill

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.

She is pregnant.

Then he finally got done

A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.
