Liberal Love-In on Fox & Friends: "Disenfranchised" French Yoots; Rove Should "Recuse" Himself
Fox & Friends Weekend | governsleastgovernsbest

Posted on 11/13/2005 4:25:54 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Just when you thought Fox & Friends Weekend couldn't get any worse . . .

I thought it was bad enough when Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick were providing some kind of balance to Julian Phillips blatherings.

It's a sign of just how bad things have gotten, with Juliet and Mike now gone, that Phillips has become something of the voice of reason!

Kiran Chetry and Page Hopkins are sitting in this morning with Phillips, and the trio tried to outdo each other in their PC comments on the French riots.

While the women wrung their hands about how the French yoots have been "disenfranchised," Phillips talked about how the underclasses have historically been mistreated in France "going back to the time of the French revolution!

If there was anything in their discussion about the rioters being Muslims, egged on by radical imams, I missed it.

Then it was on to a discussion of the GOP's fortunes. The screen was filled with shots of Rove and Condi and I am not 100% certain who made the comment, but it seemed that it was Page Hopkins who suggested that since Karl Rove has become such a "lightning rod," it might be a good idea for him to "recuse himself.

"Recuse himself? That is something a judge does when he has a conflict of interest. I'm assuming that Page was suggesting that Rove either resign or take a leave of absence, but who really knows?

Here's where Julian played the voice of reason [!], saying he wasn't sure Rove's 'recusal' was the answer.

What a mess of a show. Has the time has come for Fox News to scrap the weekend edition and start again from scratch?

Geesh, he sees Les Mis one time and thinks he is an expert.

Now that you mention it, I bet you're absolutely right as to how Julian came by his "expertise" on French history!

I don't like the way FNC treated the viewers of the weekend morning show - when one day Mike and Juliet were just "gone" but their website said nothing about it and we had Julian being an a** for hours on end.

I started e-mailing but haven't had one answer. They could have at least prepared a "stock answer" to fire out to the viewers. I am the one who fought to get FNC in our city cable systems years ago...because we needed balance over the other stuff.

I was disappointed in Malkin yesterday - but she is an excellent writer - very stiff on camera. A shame because she is a beautiful woman - clearly out of her milieu. She was on CSPAN one morning and sitting talking about her own subjects...she is peerless.... but not in a chatroom kind of situation.

Surely there are some talented folk who could replace this ever changing cast of awfuls.... the news readers (Hopkins, etc.) are not good anchor material.... and Julian should be farmed out unless he has some awful contract they are working out...but what about us???

The numbers must be horrendous and I hope the advertisers are getting the message. That's it...let's write the advertisers (if there are any).

Whatever....Julian has to go! He turns every discussion onto himself....the guy is a loser.

Sorreee..I am a TV News Junkie...but I always come to Free Republic to get the facts behind the fantasy I see on television.

"I refuse to watch them."

I should refuse to do so too. I tuned in for about 60 seconds. Just long enough to hear one of them say - calling the rioters in France *scum* made things worse. What a bunch of BS. Do they (the liberals on Fox)really think the thugs who are rioting, give a rip which names, they are called. This PC stuff is absolute insanity.

Fox is no different from the rest of the MSM, imo. I don't think we are getting a tenth of the news out of France. It's difficult to know just how bad things are over there, when we have no news outlet we can trust. Pretty sad.

Do we now need an "Alex Witt rule?"

Not in my book, but I'll let others be the judge.

During the week I find Special Report with Brit Hume the best news show

Brit's Grapevine, panel and "finally" segments are great.

Do you actually watch FNC or do you just get your opinion of Fox from DU?

As I have said before - Fox News has gone left and it is getting closer to CNN everyday. We put them in first place and they have gone over to the side of the anti-American left wing.

I have stopped watching anything except Bill, and Bret.

I do think it's worthwhile keeping tabs on what the MSM are up to.

An invaluable service, may I say.

Everyone knows why Julian is there.

Page Hopkins just insisted, "Global warming is REAL."

But what the heck...turn off the sound and just watch the beautiful, devastatingly cute, Kiran Chetry.
