The House is voting on the "Immediate Troop Withdrawal From Iraq Resolution - 571:
Yea = 3
present = 6
Nay = 157
Yea = ZERO
Nay = 215
and no one voting present.
This is the final count at 8:33p.m.
This was the vote count I was asking about at the rally - one person thought it was a close vote. I'm happy to report that was not the case.
Yes, precisely, I agree wholeheartedly and unobsequiously.
I've always found that people who have the need to ask others "getting any" do so because they live vicariously through others.
Err, I wasn't calling you a Moran, just saying that nut Moran was probably one of those 3 votes.
Some people too lazy to hit "Last" and go back a page or two...
WASHINGTON - The House on Friday overwhelmingly rejected calls for an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq, a vote engineered by the Republicans that was intended to fail. Democrats derided the vote as a political stunt.
Should a guy have to search through a 6,000+ post thread to find the final vote tally of this extremely important breaking news?
This is the new media, sometimes events like this need a 2nd or even 3rd thread to clarify important points of the overall discussion.
He should have followed up the title with "House Republicans grow a spine, first time for this session."
Gunny Bob mentioned the Freepers as he was signing off his show tonite - was praising you guys! Coooool!
I didn't ask. If you took the time to search, you'd know that.
It was McDermott, he was either drunk or senile
I can hardly wait to hear Rush on Monday!
Another one who hasn't ever thought about punching in at the end.
If the other 70,000 of us can find out the number without putting up a thread about it, why are you people so special?
You didn't ask; you said my answer must be no.
Why are you so interested in MY sex life?
If you want a perfect example of the influence of us 'ordinary' Americans just look at what happened in the House of Representatives tonight. A vote of 403-3 against surrendering in Iraq!
And who voted AGAINST... Pennsylvania congressman John Murtha a day after his statement of surrender, a 'shot heard around the world' including by Al-Jazerra where he was the top story yesterday.
The power new media in forums like Free Republic, Hannity Forums, the blogosphere and talk radio was on display today.
The FReepers here Free Republic rang Murtha's phones off the hook, caused his fax machines to run our of paper and filled his email inboxes. See this thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1524448/posts
Way to ge everyone who took time out to call, fax and email their representatives in the House and Senate!!! You are all 'Great Americans'!
Haven't you ever heard of ADA????
I found the thread useless on the vote tonigh. You couldn't keep up, mucheless make sense of the comments and replies. That's why i clicked on this thread.
Oh, thanks for that! I'm bookmarking it!
Right on! He'll be back Monday, won't he? Ought to be a great show.
I thought it was just the immigration threads that made you grumpy. Guess I was wrong.
Ahhh, yes, can't have good news without the obligatory idiocy.
Then you need more practice. :-)
I agree with you -- I want to see vote totals when I log on to FR. Wouldn't even know they were there if we had to wade through a thread.
Hello, honey. :-)
I just am, OK?
Ok we know what vicyory isnt ,but what is it?
Also I noticed we got "No Plan" over and over tonight ...If there isnt one from the administration (and I disagree with the premis).....where is it written the Dems cant find one on their own?
I wondered about that as well. It seems difficult to believe they would be allowed to change their votes...and it seems equally difficult to believe they were tallied incorrectly.
Ah, I don't know what you're talking about since I don't go on those threads.
Mainly because of stupid remarks like yours.
Ah, not okay.
Hi Toots! How ya doing?
With this many nay votes, where is all of the media hoopla coming from? Makes one wonder what gives here.
Well, I'm a little worried because some people are asking about my sex life........LOL.
I agree with what you had to say. The final vote was too important to put at the end of a thread -- I certainly would have missed it.
This vote kept two Congressman from being at our Banquet tonight so that is the first thing I wanted to see when I got home -- the outcome of the vote.
I for one dont want to know nothin about it
Not only that...but DID YOU SEE THAT FRANCE, GERMANY, and all the FREAKING NAYSAYERS IN THE EU? AND AL QUADA? LOL!
I see that Pella Lugosi LOST FACE again...LMAO. Her face might have given out but our will is strong! And we rule!
THanks GOP! About time you guys showed some cojones!
"Don't ask, don't tell"
Not many are as perfect as you
LOL! You're gonna get in trouble. ;o)
Having waded through the other thread, it seems that they made a mistake in their vote (thinking that a yes vote supported the troops).
At least one of them, Lindner of GA, is apparently a solid conservative.
Don't remember who the other one was, but it sounded as if he should get the benefit of the doubt, too.
Why don't you just admit you can't keep up and be done with it?
So you're saying those of us who can keep up are ridiculous?
I'll say this, those fast threads have improved my typing
Capitol idea, make it universal.
"exactly the kind of thing our troops needed to see"
I couldn't agree more. This was anything, BUT a political stunt on the part of the Republicans. The exact opposite!
It is also something our enemies needed to see.
Don't I wish.
With all due respect Howlin, I avoid threads that are over 500. I have found they are overly inhabited by off topic posts, and are used as chat rooms in some cases. There is usually very little to add to what has been said over and over anyway.
