Is this a real book or what? I don't think one of People Magazine's Sexiest Men of the Year has time for such frivolities.

Another point..IMHO..there is now no chance in hell for a reporters' shield law..and even if Congress was so disposed.how would you define who/what is a "reporter" today? That's why it will never happen. The MSM brought this down upon themselves..

Woodward & Miller are like two members of the Capone mob who got 'enthusiasms'. They forgot that the MSM/DNC cabal was a 'team' effort... and once they started playing for themselves... they became 'bums'.

Batter Up!

Hmmm. Seems like the editorial is more suited in tone to criticise Dan Rather. However that never happened with this tone from the MSM.

I guess its OK to be totally unethical as a reporter as long as you aid the lefties' causes. But heaven help you if you screw up their efforts to tar and feather a REPUB administration.

Everybody knew where she worked.

She was commuting to Langley every day and her husband was bragging about his wife's job there.

There was nothing covert about her status.

How either of them had a security clearance is a mystery.

What you say is the truth and why it is consistently ignored is another mystery. These people were HIGHLY visible and as such their employment would obviously become a question within the circles they frequented. I haven't heard a cover story anywhere, so what did she tell people (we already know know what he told people). Another question is how many men she dated did she tell of her employment? Since she told old Joe on the third date it is more than reasonable to think she blabbed before. If certain people weren't determined to use this to try to bring down the administration it would be almost comic. I can visualize her with a rose in her mouth ala Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies.

>>The first duty of a reporter is to tell people what's going on.<<

What a load of crap.

With the current crop of crap that calls itself journalism,
its more like " the first duty of a reporter is to expose everything thats bad of the enemy and bury everything thats bad of the friend ".

For those without a playbook:

"enemy = Republican administrations, US military"
"friend = Democrat administrations, OBL, Zarqawi"

It appears Woodward may have been the first reporter to learn the identity of Valerie Plame,

I don't think that this is true either. Kristof of the NYT was first I believe and he was told by either Wilson or Plame herself.

Can someone explain what Woodward's silence has to do with Libby's indictment?

I would like an answer as well, one OTHER than something on this so-called time-line. Libby lied to investigators and again, to the GJ. Even had Woodward made known to Fitzgerald that he had his own WH source, Libby would not have known this ahead of his own testimony.

And contrary to exonerating Libby, Woodward letting the world know that there is yet another person in the administration who was contacting members of the press, it confirms the contention the there was concerted effort in the WH. This new GJ will now hear from Woodward's source, either voluntarily or by subpeona, there will be footage of anyone who enters the building to testify ... we will soon know just who this person is.

That is not why there will not be a reporter's shield law -- one may not have the ability to aid and abet criminal offense. To allow persons of the journalism trade the cover of confidentiality to keep secret known criminal activity would do just that.

Face the facts...Woodward is a shite eating, two faced lier and a puke licking demoncrap dog. I would put it more stronger but being Woody is an illegitmate Clinton-kennedy swine pervaricating asswipe, I will give him some benefit for being albe to lie even without moving his lips, like Hitlery Roddamb.

This is a load of crap.

Woodward didn't need to divulge his source because this witch hunt claiming to be an investigation should have been short and simple.

The prosecutor should have looked to see if any laws were broken by revealing that Plame reccomended Wilson for the trip. When it was discovered that none were, the investigation should have ended.

Nepotism and reccomending a overtly biased person to investigate intelligence is newsworthy, because it shows how our CIA keeps comming up with bad intelligence.

It should have gotten Plame fired.

Exposing that is whistleblowing, and such people should be protected unless they break laws in the process. It definately appears no laws were broken.

Woodward has acted with honesty and integrity. He's just not working to smear the administration, which is why he's being attacked.
