I have been reading this all over the blogs too but I still tend to take this with a grain of salt. How many times did the MSM think we got Bin Laden in Afghanistan.

" I still tend to take this with a grain of salt."

Yeah. I'm skeptical on this one. but here's what I'm wondering: how did they get the DNA sample?

...how did they get the DNA sample?

Perhaps from a close relative, if the not the head-chopper himself.

Al Qaida chief of operations in Iraq, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, wears a suicide bomb belt so he can kill himself if capture appears imminent - a practice that apparently drove U.S. forces to suspect that he was one of three terrorists who blew themselves up after they surrounded a safehouse in Mosul on Saturday.

Excellent idea. Hope it worked.

Personally I wish Bush would make a Thanksgiving day appearance in Iraq for our troops. That would really help their morale. Also we can't forget our troops in Afghanistan though!

We'll find him in a rathole. I wouldn't mind finding him with his head separated from his body by an explosive belt.

" Perhaps from a close relative,"

interesting thought. Of course, if that is the case, the DNA analysis will not give a definitive answer as to whether al Zarqawi has been killed. The stories in the press make it sound like we have his DNA.

If he has any living brothers, sisters, or mom you can test mitochondrial DNA - that is passed on solely through the ovum (sperm has no mitochondria)

The guy is too much of a coward to "blowed himself up real good". If he does wear one, they only way it'll go off is by accident.
