"It's hilarious how the hate-Bush crowd think THEY are the real Republicans when they couldn't elect a dog catcher."

Hate Bush crowd? I've not read a single post on this thread expressing hatred for the president. And I'd bet a suitcase full of cash that most of us "Bush haters" voted for him... twice...

There's a difference between support of an ideology and blind support of a politician. Any reasonable, non-robotic free-thinker would see that.

This always sticks in the back of my mind. I sometimes feel our two parties are selling us down the same river doing a divide and conquer.

How can you give a long speech on the mexican border and not say the word "wall" one time?

If Bush proposed to Congress- "1. Immediately round up all illegals and deport them 2. Build a 2000 mile fence along the border 3. Immediately Prosecute all employers who have illegals in their employ

What would happen in Congress? This seems to be the outcome many want, so how does it happen this way in reality? Critics of Bush's plan should have the solution.

Then they demand supporters of the Party leave the Party -- if we don't, then they'll form a Third Party and show us by helping to elect Hillary Clinton just like they helped elect Bill in 1992 by supporting Ross Perot.

Uh, that is the way free societies operate. When many disagree with the ruling party, they change that at the next election. Look at the recent German election. Look at what happened in Canada yesterday. Look for some political changes in the US in 06. If the message doesn't get through, look for greater political changes in the US in 08.

That is the way free societies operate.

Bush works for us, not the other way around. We support ideals not a party. The Republicans are closer to those ideals. It is our responsibility to have Bush act along those ideals.

Neither the President nor 100% of Republicans agree with you on every issue or principle. Expecting ideological purity in one of the two political parties in a nation of close to 300 million is not rational.

Yeah we will until Bush gets it right.

If you don't care about the security of your family, shut up and get out of the way of those who do.

Or could it be you are just one of the many "Business Owners" that populate these threads that insist on putting money and greed over the Security of our nation?

mine too. I have called my congressman's office. the response I get on many issues is that they really don't want to be bothered with me, but they pay staff to pacify me and other parties wanting to voice an opinion.

That is the way free societies operate.

Regardless where anyone stands on this issue, there is now enough national noise that politicos will have to act. This is a good thing. Now we have the pols attention and must continue to let them know how we feel to help craft their solutions to this issue.

I haven't a clue how to perform brain surgery, but I'm pretty sure a chainsaw isn't the right tool for the job.

You have a valid point about our gift from France. If you think it says "Bring me your illegal aliens with no desire to assimilate and a wish to take advantage of the citizens of this country" Then maybe it is time to box it up and send it back to France. We have legitimate paths to citizenship in this country. Far more are taking the illegal path. We are a soverign nation and have let our borders turn into seives. Shame on those government officials who accomadate this!!! Shame on all in this country who do not oppose it's being over-run.

Well brain surgery is different from removing illegal aliens from a country.

This nation needs in some ways to develope a proper work ethic in our young. No legal job should be shameful. Deport all illegal aliens. Govt check status and bus/fly them home to their nation of origin.

It is not our problem if their country doens't want them back. We do not want them here.

End anchor baby syndrome. Review all recent people receiving and applying for citizenship who are here illegally. Strip citizenship from those who have committed any crimes. Illegal immigration IS A CRIME...

Jeorge?

You'll not attain any favor with me when you attack the president in a personal manner. This is where those who oppose some of the current policies fail, they alienate more people than they attract when insults are added to bolster their argument. Let's leave the gutter politics to the DU crowd.

"...If the answer is yes you might want to consider changing parties..."Do you really think any other party will correct this? It is up to us to demand this:

Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion and against domestic Violence."

That is Constitutional law and it isn't optional! English only is the other demand - "you don't speak the language - you can't go to school or work in the United States." Warm and fuzzy words are not the answer, Demands of your elected are; call, Fax or e-mail your elected and don't let up.

Quit trying to throw out that old non-starter: If we disagree with him on a very specific issue, it's "100% hyper criticism".

Critics of Bush's immigration policy (which is really a LACK of an immigration policy) are very specific in their concerns and aren't just throwing weak attacks.

And you don't speak for "Most of us Freepers".
You speak for YOU.

Good. Hopefully it won't be more than 25 cents a pound on chicken parts but then once you calculate what FICA will cost... chickens just might get expensive. :-)
