While watching 9-11 live, I was astonished at how much was done with simple box-cutters, until I realised that it was POLICY among every US airline not to resist hijackers...just go along, land in Cuba and you'll be OK.

That paradigm was shot to blazes within an hour, and thank God for cell phones, which let the Flight 93 passengers know that in time. They died anyway...but since then, no one has tried to comandeer a US commercial plane, or even get wild drunk, without a swarm of passengers ruining his day.

I call that progress.
