Please excuse the subject, this is a call to action, it was meant to get YOUR attention. Read on while witholding judgment.
Citizens of Louisiana,
WE THE PEOPLE need easier and more effective methods and administrative and legal procedures and remedies to remove elected, appointed and other public officials and employees, IN ALL BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT, from their positions of trust (GIVEN TO THEM BY THE PEOPLE of our good and historic state) when they are involved of suspected or proven undesirable activity.
The endless days of graft, corruption, miscondcut, looking the other way, making perpetual excuses and providing misleading or non-answers need to come to an end IMMEDIATELY.
Ask yourself why do your representatives, politicians and public servants avoid making the needed changes?
Until the changes occur, it will be business as usual in Louisiana, and under the current way of doing "business" we can expect little or no help from the outside as the reputation of our PUBLIC SERVANTS is well known and well documented, and the entire country is well aware of it and has been for a long time.
ALL branches of state and local government in Louisiana need checks and balances which can be easily and effectively executed *successfully* BY THE PEOPLE, as opposed to the current avenues and methods of redress of making seemingly senseless and useless complaints to parties inside the system whom seem more interested in protecting their professional colleagues and cronies than they are the public, WE THE PEOPLE, whom they are supposed to be serving and protecting.
Our extensive and cultured history, and the proliferation of graft, corruption and official misconduct, known as "The Louisiana Way", tells us in this very difficult time of need, that unless sweeping reforms and changes are successfully enacted, AND ENACTED RAPIDLY, that Louisiana is going to be written off by the rest of the country as a hopeless liability to the union, and not deserving of the assistance we need to rebuild our state related to the recent natural disasters.
Until YOU THE PEOPLE get off your duffs (actually I wanted to use a more descriptive and deserving term than "duffs") and TAKE ACTION, you can kiss much, if any, further federal and outside assistance goodbye.
Just my 2 cents. Take it, leave it, or get off your *DUFF$ and do something about it.
Or, as is expected will be the case, you can just sit on your beer guzzling, I'm a victim, a$$e$ and suffer the consequences.

*IF* you care.
I have to admit, after the initial rescue efforts, I stopped giving money to anything to do with La. After doing business down there about 10 years, I was exposed to corrupt system. So while I donated to help the victims' immediate needs, there's no way in hell I would give a plugged nickle to the system down there.
wow
I thinks you're going to get zotted...
"And like that....he was gone..."
lol...kinda what i was thinkin...kinda funny to see it happen, huh?
Already reported
That was quick and a newbee too.
Yep, he was zotted ... It almost my eyes readin it, Ouch!
That's why I say, "Hey Man, nice shot".
bttt
Explain to me how the title of this post is supposed to help your state.
Sounds right to me.
I havent givin money to charity since 9/11. After the families were still bitching about money after they got their two million, I decided to stop giving. Do I think the people of New York would send money if my community in Nebraska were destroyed by a tornado, No. Do I think the people of New Orleans would send money, hell no. Maybe if something happens in flyover country ill donate again, but never again to ingrates.
Best way to help is to buy cut priced stock in affected business in the area if possible.
Give it a rest, will you?
After living in Louisiana for seven years, serving as a television news director, the writer is RIGHT ON TARGET!
Man, that was quick. He got zotted before I got my post up. And it was the first time I ever got to see the actual post before it got zotted.
I take it you look closely at my profile, I am not even minutely close to being a newbie on Freep.
