The move appears consistent with other Freep threads which discussed the fact that, if the Iraqi military is successfully rebuilt, and the Coalition departs (good-bye Geneva Convention), the anti-democratic killers would be "flattened". Maybe they've made the same calculation and decided that survival, with some influence, is the way to go.
