This is the answer!

"...Mexican workers to denounce rights violations in the United States....

We should encourage the illegals to report even the slightest violation of "Rights" and in the process name the employer who caused the violation. Then we can put the employer out of business, and ship the illegals back to where they came from.

Uhm...the Berlin wall was meant to keep people IN not OUT. Did Mexico fall to the Soviets and no one told me?

Heh. Well in a way he's right. We are trying to keep HIS people in HIS country..... :)

Oops. I didn't know it was a "human right" to illegally invade another country, undercut the labor market of that nation's citizens, criminally avoid paying income taxes, fraudulently draw off the benefits of their social safety net programs, and generally be a financial drain on a foreign nation. Now I know!

Somehow I'd envisioned the Mexicans starting work on their own wall ~ only higher so they could jump over our wall.

Unfortunately most of the posts in this thread have no element of humor.

"We learned to believe in the United States. We have a binational life," he said of Zacatecas, a state that has been sending migrants north for more than a century. "It isn't just a feeling of rejection. It's against what we see as part of our life, our culture, our territory."

What the.....???? WTH is a binational? Is it similar to being bisexual? AC/DC? Go either way? And how in the hell is the U.S.A......part of their culture and their territory? That sounds like fighting words to me!

Rhetoric like this strenthengs the resolve to build a thick, thick, thick, wall, with alligators and tigers walking its perimeter.

feel the proposal is a slap in the face to those who work hard and contribute to the U.S. economy.

They make it sound like an act of Mexican GENEROSITY towards the US.

Well, I say that we show a neighborly concern for Mexican interests and INSIST that they stop this obsessive unselfishiness.

I mean, in the interests of keeping Mexico viable over the very long term, we in the USA should help them help themselves by NOT helping US to their own detriment.

I think Mexico should retaliate and put up an even wider and higher 'spite' wall on their side.

Fernando Robledo, 42, of the western state of Zacatecas, says the proposals could stem migration

Uhhhh, isn't that the idea. Give the man a peso for figuring it out so quickly.

"When people heard this, it worried everybody, because this will affect everybody in some way, and their families," Robledo said. "They were incredulous. How could they do this, propose something like this?"

It's about stopping illegal immigration.....Your son and mother are US citizens, you are not.....EXACTLY WHAT PART OF "ILLEGAL" DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, IDIOT????

"Fernando Robledo, 42, of the western state of Zacatecas . . . 'It's against what we see as part of our life, our culture, our territory.'"

Hey, Fernando, it's not YOUR territory, and if I have anything to do with it it's not going to become part of greater Aztlan.

You know Congress has just taken a good first step on immigration when you get this kind of response.

BTW, how come the writer of this article, just for a superficial, perfunctory stab at evenhandedness, didn't interview a few conservatives on this issue?

Close the border, build a fence, deport the illegals.

Mexico fell to the forces of totalitarianism long before Russia fell to the Reds. If Mexico was a decent place to live in, we would not have these border problems. Mexico is a prison and Fox is the latest Warden.

"We learned to believe in the United States. We have a binational life"

There is a problem. If you come here to live you are an American, you cannot have both. Stop them from jumping back and forth over the border and sending money home as well.

""has struck back with radio ads urging Mexican workers to denounce rights violations in the United States""

Hmm, now they're turning our own tricks against us...What, do they think they're a political party or something?

The Mexican government, angered by a U.S. proposal to extend a wall along the border to keep out migrants, has struck back with radio ads urging Mexican workers to denounce rights violations in the United States.

Whoa!
Yikes!

This is going to keep me awake nights.

OMG!
What am I going to do??

wait...

... never mind...
