Riyadh, 28 Dec. (AKI) - Saudi security forces on Wednesday killed a suspected al-Qaeda militant a day after he escaped from a gunfight in which another wanted militant and five policemen were killed. Abdulrahman al-Motaeb, whose name appeared fourth on a list of "most wanted" Islamist radicals believed to have links to Osama bin Laden's network, was killed in a clash, Saudi security sources said.
Another suspected militant, Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Suwailmi, died of his wounds early Wednesday after being hit in Tuesday's clashes with security forces at a checkpoint near Buraida, capital of Qassim province, 300 kilometres north of Riyadh, according to the interior ministry.

I've never been able to decide whether the Saudis are really doing al they can to stop terrorists in their country.
On one hand, their Wahhabi ideology serves as a breeding ground for terrorism and comments made by Saudi mullahs and elected officials seem to support this.
On the other hand, maybe the Saudis realized that they have opened up a huge can of worms that they can no longer control. The terrorists they have ignored and supported now want to overthrow them.
Which one do you think it is? Opinions anyone?
Maybe you can see it this way: You don't mind terrorists spreading the Islamist ideology converting people to Muslims even using destructrive methods as long as it happens outside the country, but when this radicalism is carried back to the homeland directed on the regime that is promoting it, the regime doesn't want something that could destroy itself and wants anyone attempting to destroy the regime to captured or dead.
What the Saudis are doing is getting their most militant Islamists to leave Saudi and infect the rest of the world. Their solution is to get rid of their problem by making it our problem
