Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

Lol yeah I already knew the answer to that question. I just couldn't believe what he was saying. He's seriously trying to turn CAP into a major issue when it's not an issue at all. The dims are desperate for some reason to vote against Alito.
The woman on the left, with short hair, is Alito's wife.
The other woman is not Alito's daughter. His daughter has long blonde hair and is a teenager. She was there yesterday but not today. Perhaps she didn't want to cut classes at high school.
12:42: Sen. Kennedy moves for executive session to subpoena these documents from CAP. Specter says this takes him by suprise but Kennedy says it shouldn't because Kennedy sent a letter about this topic. Specter says he didn't receive it and refuses to rule. Kennedy wants to appeal. However, Specter says there's no decision to appeal. Specter says he'll consider it and that he's the chair and moves on.
What do want to bet that afterwards, Ted will rail against his staff for failing to deliver the letter?
LOL. That wasn't the excitement they were looking for though, I don't think.

Rush said the left-wing blogs and media were not impressed with the Senate collegiality on display yesterday. They want someone to ratchet the heat up a few notches, and apparently Kennedy took it upon himself to take the mantle of responsibility.
Teddy is desperately grabbing for straws.
Now the far left will bring out a conspiracy theory because of a denied subpoena if it is denied.

Dang, I missed Durbin and this. All I heard was Spector slamming down the gavel. I'm shutting my phone off. I've sat through too much of this crap to miss the good stuff.
He did this to himself with his heavy drinking over years and years.
