Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

Hey, let's ask Kennedy about how his zeal for affirmative action doesn't apply to his personal life.
He favors racial set asides ensuring that minority businesses get guaranteed portions of contracts.
But whre his family interests are concerns, those views fade.
The Kennedy family limited partnerships - WDC Associates and Fourth and D Street Partners had a minority clause which Kennedy got Washington mayor Marion Berry to waive and so the Kennedys were allowed to purchase an entire city block in D.C. just block from the Capitol Building.

Are we REALLY watching this? Kennedy is making a fool of himself on national tv. He attempts to attribute these ideas (from CAP) to be Alito's own. Does he assume we are all idiots?
His tone of voice- is hilarious...like he CAUGHT ALITO in a lie or something...
Alito is plainly FED UP.

Kennedy's tone has the scent of desperation to it ... like last night Ralph Neas turned over and whispered "you were a failure - get it right this time!" into Teddy's dangling earlobe.

What the hell is Teddy talking about? Teddy: "Did you read that WSJ article...a periodical that is read by...uh...um...er...people...er...um...."
I think even Mrs. Alito was holding back a laugh. It could not be easy.
