no, these have always been the weak hands on the R side of the senate. this is hardly a secret, whether I post it or not.
give these weaks hands even the slighest reason to flip, like this stupid comment from Frist, and they just might do it.
But you always do.
Eh. Frist made the mistake of saying the truth. Alito is the Dems worst nightmare, but it is better left unsaid.
But really, this comment isn't a big deal. IF there was audio, maybe it could hurt. Besides, it came out on a Friday, the end of the news cycle.
People are more concerned with the NFL playoffs this weekend than Supreme Court politics. The Dems tried along time to get traction over the Republicans forcing Meirs to step aside, but that went no where. This won't change the politics of this. Frist has the votes to go nuclear if needed.
A dumb comment from Frist is not extraordinary circumstances.
You're on drugs if you think anybody gives a rat's ass what Frist says.
Horse manure.
Frist is showing me that he has the guts to laugh in the scumbags' faces rather than cower in a corner with his fingers crossed praying that Alito gets confirmed without too much animosity and dirty faces and stuff from those mean Democrats. Furthermore, after Alito is confirmed I hope Frist laughs even louder and kicks the Democrats' skulls in while they're down. Personally, I am sick up to here of Republicans running scared from the scumbag Democrats and their allies in the liberal newrooms.
I thought Frist's comments were refreshing.
But maybe that's just me, based on some of the posts I see on this thread.
there is plenty of time to gloat and celebrate - after the confirmation. no one is saying he had to cower or be scared, just stay away from the hyperbole like "nightmare". there are plenty of positive comments he could have made about Alito without saying this.
"Personally, I am sick up to here of Republicans running scared from the scumbag Democrats and their allies in the liberal newrooms."
Gloating is not especially appropriate AFTER the fact.
It's positively uncanny, lol.

The RATS think they can escape their conscience when they die. Ha ha, jokes on them.
Clearly you couldn't win anything in politics.
Alito hasn't BEEN confirmed and if the Dems decide to filibuster, there is little chance the GOP will use the nuclear option to save his nomination.
Frist's comment didn't show guts, it was just plain stupid.
Everybody who I always disagree with chooses to jump on and opine.
Continue, bring it on!
Good Grief.......that's downright disgusting....
Well, I dunno........I see a lot of complaining on here that the Republicans don't stand up for themselves enough, etc. etc.
Now Frist speaks out, and you don't like that either?
I'm all for the Republicans taking it to them!
Let them rage and filibuster. Then drop the nuke.
Get over it. It's good to show spine.
"Now Frist speaks out, and you don't like that either?"
There was no need to blurt this out just now. It's potentially counterproductive.
lol.....I posted a response at the start of this thread. Just read your commments......
Agreed....
What could be more fun!
