I know what you really meant is Leviticus 18:22.

210-word typos happen all the time.

"Ordinarily, I would never ask anyone to do this, but the AFA and bullies like them are hard at work to try and prevent you from seeing these beautiful shows, and that is censorship—pure and simple. And that is both un-Christian and un-American," Kenny wrote.

His attitude is typical in today’s society. Non-Christians telling Christians what is Christian.

Well, Kenny's not acting like a gay man either... (time to turn the tables - let's define how gays are supposed to act)

the autobiography of Johnny Cash... relates how when he had a TV show..., he once stated on the show that he was a Christian and he had an ABC producer take him aside and tell him "you cannot so much as mention Christianity on network TV" or words to that effect. So it's fine for network TV to trash Christianity but not to even allow one performer to mention his own faith in a positive light.....

I ran across similar observations in the great interview with Robert Duvall by Timothy E. Rhys in Moviemaker magazine. Duvall is one conservative whose talent is so overwhelming that the best Hollywood has been able to do to him is to shut him out of Oscar consideration. He is one of the most brilliant men ever to grace the silver screen, as a writer, director and producer as well as an actor. Here's a snip of the interview:

What do you think about how outspoken Hollywood has been with the anti-war rhetoric?

The way Hollywood speaks out is absolutely beyond me. Some people are so ill-informed.

You don’t mind them speaking out, as long as they’re better informed?

I mean, why be so outspoken about it anyway? Does it help Sean Penn’s career to go over to Iraq? Did it help Jane Fonda to go over to Vietnam years ago? I don’t know. But sometimes when these guys speak out… I get embarrassed.

You don’t talk politically very often, do you.

Not so much in public. You know, you’re safe if you’re a liberal in Hollywood. You’re safe if you speak out like that.

So you’d obviously consider yourself more of a conservative.

Somewhat, yeah. We were at was at a New Year’s Eve party and this guy, typical Hollywood, says something and I said ‘Wait a minute. Are you implying that you voted for George Bush?’ And he slouches… I mean, it’s very easy to be liberal in Hollywood, but if you’re not… people are actually afraid. In Hollywood they can be so vicious toward anybody with an opinion that’s a little different from the majority.

That’s really why you couldn’t get The Apostle funded, isn’t it?

I think there’s a connection… I think there’s a connection. Nobody wants to deal with anything"right wing." Never mind fundamentalist.

Yeah, and not even just right wing. They don’t want to show the truth, show something as it really is. They want to make a comment. But frankly, the bottom line is dollars, even more than being political.

With Tango, did you think about the market at all when you were writing? After your experiences with Apostle, did you have any market considerations?

I was just trying to make a movie, you know? ... The Apostle eventually found a good audience. We grossed $34 million, which is pretty good for that kind of film.

You should’ve won the Academy Award for your performance. I’ve always said that.

Some people told me that performance was overdone. I don’t think they understand the South.

You deserved it, no question. Did it bother you that you didn’t win?

If I’d been taking odds in Vegas [Laughs]… But you know, certain guys are the darlings of that town. And it’s almost like a popularity contest. I’ll tell you when I was even more shocked. When I didn’t win the Emmy for Lonesome Dove. So those two times, yeah. I felt I should’ve won. Back when I did The Great Santini, and I didn’t win, it was okay because De Niro was terrific in Raging Bull. I’m gonna give him that one.... He was wonderful. The movie was great. Everybody was great in it. But these other movies, when you can see legitimate defects from an actor’s point of view, ooooh. That’s different…

I still wonder how the heck they managed to get "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on TV.

I've never watched it all the way through, but something tells me it's not about Christ's birth.

Notice the networks never trifle with Muslims. They are too afraid to. Now they are learning that Christians won't take it either.

The main difference being that we boycott advertisers, not behead anyone.

This show was protested more than most and that certainly had an effect; bad as the show was they probably would have kept it through the first eight episodes as part of their standard anti-Christian fare.

What amazes me is that "Da Vinci Code" was not protested and stores boycotted. That is just as offensive if not more than a TV show. When it came out, I expected it to be pulled from grocery stores due to complaints but perhaps stay in bookstores. I sure didn't expect it to sell so much!

I guess certain things strike people the wrong way way more than others.

Doctorow is full of hot air, IMO.

I once met him, introduced by his college roommate. Insufferably haughty and condescending (I am many years younger than he, but was fully adult at the time).

Check the revenue numbers for "Brokeback Mountain" on boxofficemojo.com for Monday's showings. BM has shot its wad. It won't even make $50M. Now, on the hand, "Narnia' has pulled in close to $600M, but not a word for any awards. Do you think maybe "Hollywood" is living in a bubble or, maybe, just smoking grass? The revenue numbers for "Munich" "Syriana", "Good Night & Good Luck", "Capote" are dreadful at best.

"Do you think maybe "Hollywood" is living in a bubble or, maybe, just smoking grass?"

With Hollyweird, it's not an either/or..... they're mostly smoking grass (and doing many other drugs) while lost in a bubble of their own world. It's kinda like the famous quote from (the late) NY Times film reviewer Pauline Kael after the 1972 election, when she said she couldn't imagine how Nixon won in this huge landslide because "everyone I know voted for McGovern!" It's a different world in Manhattan and LA (and other "blue" cities) except for some pockets of business and common sense......

...People like this think being Christian means being "nice" and "unoffensive." You've got to wonder if they've ever picked up a Bible...

Thank the libs who are responsible for the the feminisation of Christ message. They have for too long overemphasised the nurturing qualities (like forgiveness) at the expense of the rest of his message. The exploitation, was of course, necessary so they can justify their deviant sinful behavior.

Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father. "Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man 'against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one's enemies will be those of his household.' "Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross 15 and follow after me is not worthy of me (Mathew 10: 32-38)

The other 45% of Catholics (or out of that, the % that still attend church regularly) cite the justification for voting Democrat on "other social issues" such as the Death Penalty, war, the like. But it's important to note the words from the Pope (as from when he was in his role as Prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith) in a memo sent to the to the USCCB...The following on the memo is from Cardinalrating.com...(bold emphasis is mine)

"Paragraph #3 — Cardinal Ratzinger gives the U.S. bishops clear directives that no other human rights or moral issues have the same serious moral weight as abortion and euthanasia.

Please note that #3 readily refutes those many U.S. bishops who have publicly said they would not deny the Eucharist to pro-abortion legislators because then they would have to deny also those persons who favored war or the death penalty. Ratzinger explained the Church does not condemn war and the death penalty, but does condemn abortion and euthanasia."

I thought he would make it.

By lessening the pool of potential advertisers for a show, you might drive down the rates a fraction, but you will not stop companies from buying time on a highly rated show.

Who was advertising on this one?

"Hit'em where it hurts, in the bottom line. No sponsors, no money, no religion bashing. Maybe they learned their lesson and maybe they didn't."

You got it, very right!

Hollywood is in a slump too. All they do is churn out trash. There have been exceptions like The Passion and Narnia and Walk the Line wasn't bad but the rest ... not worth seeing. More and more sensible people are voting with their wallets and sponsors KNOW THIS.

"There are plenty of bad shows out there. Someone's watching them."

UNLESS you are subsidizing them like NPR and public educational channels sponsored by YOUR tax dollars. Liberals are parasites. They want YOU to fund their smutty trash and leftist agenda.
