Bucks Democrats Put Iraq Casualty Sign In Window (Bucks County PA Repubs trying to stop them)

A Republican group is calling for the removal of a running tally of U.S. casualties in Iraq displayed by the Bucks County Democratic Committee in the front window of its Doylestown headquarters.

The sign includes the words "We honor our fallen heroes'' and a count of military deaths in Iraq.

Don Petrille, chairman of the Bucks County Federation of Young Republicans, accused Democrats of "using the numbers for political gain'' and said it was an inappropriate use of members of the armed services.

Democrats, however, called the sign a valid way to honor fallen service members.

"Perhaps some are more comfortable thinking of war only in generalities,'' said Neil Samuels, the deputy county chairman of the party. "But the cost of war is not just political and economic - it is personal. And it is that terrible personal cost that causes us to memorialize and honor each hero's sacrifice.''

Republicans should put up a web address leading to the names and faces of all KIAs. Honor them don't reduce them to a political running tally.

I agree. Also, if you try to stop them, it looks like you find the numbers somehow dishonorable and have to hide them, which just reinforces the point the Dems are hoping to make. This is yet another example of Republicans running from a debate of facts that they can easily win.

That's OK, just have a few businesses put up signs showing the number of Black babies being killed by abortion, compared to other babies, despite having a much smaller part of the population. Post other signs showing percentages, by race of people in prisions, compared to percentages they make up of the population.
