If that thing expires, do they have to completely redo it?

I called hagel's office a while back to tell them I would NEVER vote for that man for president.
I shall call them again tomorrow. He is beyond disgraceful.
Then-Governor Bush NEVER acted in such self-serving behavior.

He is so irrelevant it is beyond absurd.
What real conservative would whore themself on a show run by a Democrat operative?
Hagel is beyond arrogant and beyond clueless.
Retarded people laugh at him.
To: nightdriver
After all these seditious politicians have their soapbox orations about it, this operation to intercept terrorists plans is about worthless anyway.REmember the great results we got out of the Church Committee?
These guys are heading in that direction; and they seem to be salivating for it.

You empty suit idiot,,, "...dont ya know theres a war on?" In war we are supposed to be spying on the enemy; you dipshiit dork!

If that thing expires, do they have to completely redo it? Not sure about having to redo
I could be wrong ... But I believe once it expires .. our intelligence agencies cannot continue to track the terrorists like they once could until Congress reenacts and puts the PA back into law
Bottom line .. Gorelicks Wall goes back up and we are in big trouble

Article snippet: "A Republican member of the Senate Intelligence Committee said Sunday that President Bush has more explaining to do on his domestic spy program and cast doubt on the administration's assertion of broad executive power."

I don't need any further explanation.
I'm not a politician.
I am not STUCK ON STUPID.

Is he now claiming he wasn't told about it?

If he wasn't , I am sure there must have been good reason not to. ;-)

Hagel seems to ignore what Dick Cheny has said, which is that the 1978 statute may be unconstitutional, or like the War Powers Act, simply a matter of common consent, not binding law.

Hagel is definitely a sign that something is wrong with the Republican Party. He's not the only goofy Republican Senator.

To Hagel: you have some things to explain yourself. Given your criticism of the military decisions of our Commander-in-Chief during wartime, I would ask that you demonstrate to us that you in fact have no allegiance to enemies of the United States.

and perhaps he can suggest a new program - the Predator drones will be equipped with a loudspeaker that plays Miranda rights before it fires its missiles.

This kind of junk cracks me up. How many Nebraskans does Hagel really think are outraged by the President trying to protect the country from terrorists. These guys are so absorbed in the DC culture that they couldnt identify with average Americans if his life depended on it. Hagel makes me want to puke.

I can understand how someone without principles might sell out his party and his friends for personal gain. But what can this kind of conduct gain Hagel politically, aside from a little very negative media exposure? He certainly shouldn't be put on this committee again.
