Probably a misstatement of the cliché "come to Jesus meeting", the equivalent of a "trip to the woodshed" or "attitude adjustment". In other words, Dean has "screwed the pooch" once too often for some members of Congress.

A Democratic source about Dean: “People are bringing him to Jesus. It’s being expressed to him. He knows it.” Impossible! democRATs don't believe in Jesus.
